I think we had a lot to do with that, I do think they spent a lot of energy against us which contributed to their loss to Vandy, couldn't have happened to a nicer coach (Golden)They didnt even get up for us, they played awful against us

Indiana thought the same thing. Hired a good coach with what was considered baggage back then and let him go. Now he is at somewhat of a power school and going to final fours. Indiana is barely making the tournament most years. You are only one bad hire or one bad fire of going to the middle of the pack. You don't want to be the UCLA or Indiana of the once relevant.
Who said that they played good? They didn't. Against us, they played with passion. Against Vandy, they were completely without passion. We didn't play well but we played with passion as well. It was an ugly game and we lost to the better team even though we could have won it.
That tends to happen, they play out of their minds against UK then fall flat the next game.

the Pope guys are mind boggling at times. This team isn’t talented enough. Pope stinks at recruiting and scouting so far. Idk why so many take it so personal and just can’t acknowledge Pope isn’t getting it done. If pope is going to survive next year he has to improve. If not he’s gonna get fired. This year has been highly disappointing for a variety of reasons. To say that Pope stinks at recruiting and scouting so far is disingenious at best. He did a good job putting together a roster that made the Sweet 16 last year in spite of having no players in the Spring. This year was a perfect storm. I won't call him a failure because of one season which went horribly wrong.

We have sucked since 2015. And when I say sucked I mean we have been mocked, abused, embarrassed by teams all around the country. How much did Duke pay for their players? Michigan, how much did they spend? Louisville, North Carolina? This program needs to get back to the “Us against the world” mentality. Keep the financial stuff in house. Nobody needs to know. All they did was use it as propaganda against us all season. Pope is not the guy. He’s just not. Nothing against him, he’s just not who we need.
Look at all of the players Pope has missed out on recruiting. It’s completely fair to say he stinks at recruiting and scouting as of now. He compared this team to our 96 team and gave an analogy of this team being like a blue Ferrari. Pope has next year to prove what he’s got, and if it’s the same product he’s gone. I like him as a person so I don’t mind if he’s the coach if he changes or improves. I just don’t get attached to coaches, I care more about the program
Just trade coaches. Their coach would have our guys in a better position than his guys.
Statistically, Florida was very similar today. 5/17 from 3 (3/20 against us). 17 offensive boards vs 16 and 13 turnovers vs 16. 74 points vs 71. Vandy however made 5 more threes than us which is a 15 point swing and more shots overall in less attempts. Vandy was just better offensively than us. Florida about the same.
We beat the two teams playing for the SEC championship, that should give us confidence going forward but we have to be able to have more than a couple of guys to score. There is no doubt in my mind Golden thought they would win the SEC championship, glad he got knocked down a peg or two. I still think the elite 8 is as far as they will go this year. Things are going to get a whole lot harder for Golden and the Gators from here on out.

They had a great season so far and averaged over 17 points for margin of sec victory.
If their games vs uk were aberrations at all, it was that we played them much closer than anyone else they beat.
Its a sad state of affairs to wear that like a badge of honor, but we forget sometimes the younger generation really has no reference point for UK basketball dominance. All they've known is mediocrity. Its depressing.
