OT: RIP Ernie Anastos

Was wondering where the RIP Ernie thread was. NYC news institution. I met him at a work event and he was a really nice guy. Now I know he was given a speaker's fee, but he couldn't have been nicer to everyone there, answered all their questions and stayed past the allotted time frame.

Ernie one of the last bridges to the 70s era of Beutel and Grimsby. His former collegue Kaity Tong pushing 80 is still on at WPIX

My family always watched Eyewitness News with Beutel and Grimsby etc.
My grandparents were Jim Jensen fans on. channel 2.
And then there was Chuck Scarborough on channel 4.

I would flip between 2 and 7. More of the Ch 7 in the 70's. Grimsby and Buetel looked like shenanigans went on. Moved on to Ch 2 in the 80's and 90's. I liked Michelle Marsh.
Garndparents were always a Scarborough fan, Followed that up with Tonight Show.
Watching that clip still makes me chuckle. The look on Dari Alexander's face after he said that is priceless.
