Despite our trouble with Florida (3 close games where we showed a ton of heart), this team will be a problem in the Dance. Florida is elite and we still hung right with 'em. I think we at least get to the sweet sixteen.

Getting to the Sweet 16 would involve beating a team like UConn or Michigan St, so I highly doubt it. Florida is the only really elite team in the SEC and we lost all 3 times.
Florida toyed with UK all 3 games in the exact same way. In 120 minutes of basketball they’ve never felt threatened by UK once.
Hung with them? We were down double digits most the whole game and made a desperate run (along with some UF turnovers) late to get a little closer. Did you really think we were going to win in those last few minutes?

We never had a shot to win any of the 3 games.
I don't recall anyone talking about how we blew a lead against Missouri and the double tech near the end may have saved us. Moreno is good but not ready to defend very good centers (as the Missouri guy was unstoppable) and Garrison is serviceable at best but certainly not in league with the more talented centers either. So, I have yet to see a dominant performance that would suggest we will go far in the tourney.

An honest WHAT IF ... if Garrison had his "normal" game, we may very likely have lost to LSU. We won two (2) games in the SECT, as most here expected, but we were not world beaters in them. Hopefully, our best basketball is still ahead of us.

Which is weird because I thought last year we only lost in the sweet 16 because its hard to beat a team 3 times. I guess that excuse only works when its us that loses the 3rd game?
Florida is the best of the SEC, for me it depends on UK's bracket, this team has flaws, they need a draw so those flaws are exposed too much.

Unless we get very lucky (make shots) and find some heart to rebound the ball, we are 1-and-done at best in the big tourney. I’m rooting for the cats and Pope, but I think next year might be even worse as this era’s flame flickers out and a new era and coach rises from its ashes.

This year you just want to avoid Duke, Michigan, Arizona, and Florida as long as possible.
