Watched a few minutes of the Arizona St/Baylor game yesterday morning .........

When showing the normal action camera angle, the floor looks like trash. Barely any color and just blech. But when they switched to higher-angle and overhead views, it actually didn't look that bad at all. Brighter and things stood out a lot clearer.

Night and day difference. (as much as I hate complimenting anything B12)

I don't like it. They need to go back to hardwood floor boards and varnish.

I thought there was some rule on the court and its surroundings need to remain the same for any game that is played in the arena. 2019 when US Bank hosted the Final 4 the stadium had to buy $2M worth of large black curtains to block the windows/sun so that the 1st game visual settings were the same as the 2nd game.

Over time they will likely texture the floor to make it more acceptable.

the revenue possibilities are too good to ignore. Guessing the nba will follow suit when the footing improves.

Sounds like the problem was players slipping on the surface of the floor.

Thank god no player has ever slipped on a traditional hardwood floor. (y)

It was used for an NBA All Star weekend a few years ago and several players said it was like playing on ice. Based on the limited minutes I watched, it doesn't look any better now. I know player safety is secondary to profits, but it's going to need significant play testing before it comes back.

Not really. Player safety should come first, and Texas Tech’s top guard slipped and injured his groin yesterday. Not a good time of year for a potentially season-ending injury.
While I agree with everything you said, it just makes me think of the varying surfaces that football games take place on.

Being slippery was a huge factor.

Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark:

"After consultation with the coaches of our four Semifinal teams, I have decided that in order to provide our student-athletes with the greatest level of comfort on a huge stage this weekend, we will transition to a hardwood court for the remainder of the Tournament. We look forward to a great Semifinals and Championship Game.”

Yep. Like I said, thank goodness traditional wooden courts are never slippery. ;)

I should have been clearer. I was saying this towards having a court that has different designs/logos/stats on it at all. The court should remain the same throughout... like a wood court.

By all means get rid of this glass court. As much as I want to watch the quarters/semis/finals it sucks to watch on tv and I left it on my quad box and watched other games and once in a while I would watch Big 12.

B12 commissioner says he wants the focus to be on the teams....not on the court. LOL

When you do this kind of gimmick in the first place, you are doing the exact opposite. 🤡

I hate that Blue smurf turf at Boise State. It should be outlawed. Only green should be acceptable for FB fields.

The players said when sweat dripped on it, it was really slick.
