They have certainly had our number for a while it seems. Should be a packed house. Tough 3 games on the road but Dawgs take the series 2-1.
We struggle up there and they've had our number for a long time now. I want to say we win 2 of 3 but until we do, I'll say we only get one. Backend of our pen worries me greatly entering league play.

2-1 That was the final score when Pigott pitched a complete game to win the last series in Fayetteville. That was in 2007 under Polk 2.0.
Would love to take 2. Take 3 and we still no nothing about our team in the SEC bc Ark obviously has real issues but what a great start to SEC play that would be.

We're the better team right now and that hasn't been true in awhile.
Still be tough to take two, but we need to.

you have to go into this series expecting to get swept and be happy with taking 1 game to avoid that.
Let’s play ball!! Take it one game at a time. We’ll see how we do in the face of a hostile crowd.

Damn. Has it really been that long since we won a series up there? This should be something like the 9th or 10th series up there since then shouldn’t it?
Here is a weird Polk 2.0 nugget for you. For all the many flaws of that era, he owned Arkansas. We won 6 of 7 series against them from 2002-2008 (Van Horn’s first year was ‘03).
And since the end of Polk 2.0, we have won a grand total of three series against them since 2008. We beat them at home three rotations in a row (2014, 2016, 2018) and that’s been it since 2008.

Really you have to go in expecting to get 1. The goal is to win your home series and not get swept in the away series. Somewhere along the way, you pick up a sweep or two at home against lesser teams, and find a way to scrape out 2 in a couple of away series and you're a national seed. Just can't get swept in your away series and can't lose any home series, or then you're in a bind.
They shouldn't be #5. That's completely a nod to their past. And they have a lot of guys with terrible batting averages.
But of course they'll have pitching, so we shall see.
This just feels to me like a series where we can really see if things have seriously changed (they have, but nothing wrong with more evidence).
Hawgs win 2-1. Hard to win up there. What's it been ? Almost 20 years since we won a series up there?
This team has the ability to break that streak, but they will need to take it one pitch at a time. Hopefully McPherson is able to have a solid start tonight because he is going to need it. We also need some bats to travel to Fayetteville as well.
