Northwestern gave Purdue hell in the second half. I'm sure fatt painter wanted to rest his 1's more than he wound up being able to.

Seems about right. If Purdue plays to their potential they are better. If Nebraska plays like January Nebraska then Purdue is in trouble. Just hope they get out of this one healthy
I want another shot at Purdue, they got off to hot start and we fought back and had a shot in OVT despite Lawrence slipping on the flour the last offensive possession.

So if Purdue playing to their potential means they are better than January Nebraska, why would Purdue be in trouble?

To me Cluff is the guy that needs to be contained. Hes such a big body. He kinda had his way with us last time.
Agreed. He's our toughest match up. Double him but can't leave their 2 guards open for 3s. Need to attack cluff and get him into foul trouble

Losing to Xavier as 3 seed in 1991 still stings to this day.
I posted this the other day that Xavier was under-seeded at 14; that was their 5th straight NCAA tournament and has made the Sweet 16 the year before. Bad draw for NU.

The Penn game was also an unlucky draw as they could bomb 3’s from everywhere and probably were better than their seed as well.

Therein lies my distaste for end of season tournaments esp the NCAA. A middling team can get hot in ONE game and basically ruin the season of a much better team. I’ve never been a fan of the NCAA tourney. IMO it gives us a false sense of failure for teams that were overall great all year. Maybe it was an illness or injury or just ONE cold night from the floor and they’re relegated to the trash heap.

The flip side of that is the team who lost multiple games to average teams during the season then gets hot at tourney time. Then we crown them the NCAA champs. Just sits wrong with me…unless of course NU ever does it.🤔

If Nebraska has any aspirations of making a serious run in the NCAA tourney, this is a game that should be won.
Can't believe some are saying this isn't an important game for Nebraska. They need to have a game or two heading into the tournament where they put together 2 halves of good basketball. Winning would be great but they need to get back to playing good ball and need to do that prior to the NCAA tournament.

6-5 in their last 11 games. I would agree a couple of wins against the top tier teams in the Big 10 is important.
