I’m encouraged by the fact that UCLA lost by 23 points to MSU, a team we match up well with, and UCLA lost by 5 to Minnesota, a team we just beat.

We’ll be better prepared against UCLA this time, plus it’s a neutral floor. I could see us losing by 15 or winning a squeaker.

Squeaker it is:

72-71 RU

I can’t get our loss to them out of my brain. Literally the worst defensive performance in recent memory. They just have too many weapons, and we’re now beset by injuries from guys (Nwuli, Dortch) who could help on the defensive end. We had a nice run, but it ends tonight.

I hope you're right, but the transitive property has little place in college basketball and you are overlooking our actual matchup with UCLA, where they beat RU by 32 points only a couple of weeks ago! Based on that, and RU's improvement since then, I'd say UCLA 82- RU 70. Would love to be wrong!

That 32-point loss is seared into my memory, lol. Then again, so was the 19-point loss to Minnesota.

Btw, since we played UCLA they have gone 4-0 at home and 1-3 on the road, with that one road win against their crosstown rival, USC.

Our odds of winning are minuscule, and I even predicted UCLA going to the B1G tournament final.

But I believe we do have a small chance, with UCLA having no wins outside the city of Los Angeles since January 28th (against Oregon).
