Easy to see why we're losing as a team

We're playing basketball right now? I had no idea that was today. I'm still used to the tournament starting Wednesday.

They go for a ball out of bounds, we don't... Led to a basket for Auburn. None of our players is gonna make that play. This needs to go ahead and end.
I haven't really noticed this lack of effort part. We seem to still play hard. We just have no talent. And the talent we do have doesn't suit Jans' system.

It is Wednesday, right? Or am I losing my mind? Or both.

I think we have talent just a lot of guys who’s style don’t mix with each other

This is the worst scoring front-court I can remember since RR. Achor has been abnormally active on the glass, leads all players with 6 rebs.

If macura has mailed it in, then put Walker in or give give his minutes to Fleming.

I don't think a person told him to shoot. I think it was his realization that there is an utter lack of scoring talent around him.

I think they were trying to go 2 for 1 at the end of the 1st half. The clock management and play calling at the end of halves is just awful.

That's exactly what they were doing. Auburn guy just defended Hub hard on the perimeter and forced that bad shot.

We don’t rebound very well and I’m not sure what the hell this offense is today.

I am slow, but it looks like Auburn is covering Hubbard and letting the rest of our team play to their potential. At least that's what I would do if I were the Auburn coach.

Finally... The score reflects how I feel. At least we won't be subjected to this in the off-season anymore.

Man. This is maybe my second part of a game I’ve watched this season. Possibly third. I used to love our games- but I haven’t been interested in several years. Sad. I miss the Stansbury years in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. Those were some good TEAMS.

I remember being told that 20-win seasons under Stansbury weren't that big a deal.

Where are those geniuses now?

Ballard is sorry, lazy, with little effort. We only have 3-4 SEC capable players & 2 of those are Freshmen

The year Rick Ray was fired (year 3), his team was 13-19 and 6-12 in the conference with only 2 20+ point beat downs.
Jans year 4, 13-19 and 5-13 in the conference with 8 20+ poing beat downs.

Rick Ray wasn't the answer but his final team would have kicked the dog sh*t out of this soft bunch.

How do you justify keeping Jans after firing Ray after his 3rd year?

i'm for firing anyone (players included) if you have a better option, but RR never even made the NIT.

I'm not defending Ray, I'm just using him as a measuring stick. Ray inherited Stanbury's mess. Jans inherited a lot of talent from Howland. Unfortunately, I don't have a better option, but Jans style won't get it done, especially at State with his worthless staff. Although Jans made the tourney 3 straight years, his team's have gotten progressively worse with each passing year as Howland's guys started to leave. And I know we were 8-10 for 3 straight years in the conference, but the product has gotten worse every year.

As much as I don't like it, Jans is going to get next year to get back to the tournament. I would love to see a staff shakeup at least and hopefully Jans can prove us wrong, but he needs to win at least 1 game in the tournament
Fact:

Another year of superb basketball.

I used to watch all of our basketball games and attend at least 5 every year. After the Rick Ray debacle I dropped back to a couple of games attending and about 1/2 watched. Then it became obvious which games we would lose and I became disenfranchised. Last season I only went to 1 game and none this season. I watched 4 or 5 nonconference games this year and realized it was a waste of time to watch SEC games. Caught maybe 5 minutes of 3 or 4 SEC games on TV to check scores and was happy I didn’t waste the money going to Starkville. It hasn't mattered who coached the same results every year. Yes, we made the tournament but were no a threat to advance.

I think Jans is a fine coach, he just did not assemble the right crew this time. NIL and the portal create a tough situation, every year.
