This is what makes serious Kentucky Basketball fans - when a child sees that something is important to their parents - it goes beyond sports.
When I was little it was Cawood Ledford's voice coming out of a small transistor radio on the kitchen table. His first words I remember were something about Jay Shidler. My mom was so focused I knew it was something important. So it became important to me.

One of my first games I remember watching was the 92 duke game. I was 8. I thought it was so cool just watching the game with my dad and his buddies. Love it! I remember certain teachers would allow us to watch games while others didn’t.In our school district, the kids are required to lock up their cell phones, but my 14yo daughter told me that she's been following the scores on her school iPad. It reminded me of watching the cable news ticker back in 1989, when the Cats were banned from televised play, just to keep up with the scores.
