Obviously need to win the BTT to get in.

Well yea. Let's just do that and remove all doubt.

Although, I don't like the tired legs from a conference tournament run.

We've experienced that Lucy football YANK with Fran's conference championship run.

If we had to choose. I'd take a loss to OSU tomorrow in exchange for an S16 run.

Conference tournament championship victory sucks, if you go 1-and-done at NCAAs

History hasn't been kind to Iowa in that regard, either. 2006 and 2022.

Iowa is 1-3 in the NCAA Tournament all-time following a conference tournament title run..........

Last year at this time, if anyone had suggested Iowa would have 21 wins as of today, I would have said: hell, yes… bring it on! Despite our frustrations with lazy passes, slow starts, passive demeanors by some, lack of team urgency at times, and as a result, losing a few games we shouldn’t have, this has been an OK season, definitely a “very good season” for a first-year coach with mid-major level transfers.

As far as our seed goes, the way it sounded from a bracketologist, the committee looks to have the seeds and potential outcomes more or less locked in by Friday.

So given that they lie and say that the conference tournaments don't matter all that much, I would say that we're pretty much stuck with the 8/9 game unless we make the Finals of the BTT.

Beating Michigan might get us to the 8 in their eyes, but adding a win then after that would guarantee the 7 seed.

Right now, to the committee, the Ohio State game is a nothing burger for us, and merely solidifies OSU's place in the field if they win.

Especially when many of our fellow Hawkeyes would have preferred DD who, unceremoniously, was just shown the BTT door.

Idk about that... Maybe at the beginning of last year, but at the end of the year it became alarmingly clear that (to me and most) Ben was the right guy for the job. DD and his son pretty much quit on WVA in the middle of the season. I was very happy last March we got Ben and this season even with some bad losses confirms we got our guy. If DD doesn't make the NCAAT next year he will be on the hot seat... he probably already is...

im not sure where all these ‘experts’ are coming up with Iowa at the 8/9 seed. At #25 in the NET rankings, they should be on the 7 seed line, especially if they beat OSU today.

after last night we were 9 seed and would advance to face Duke.

Not sure I like tonight's update and not sure we can even play UCLA as our opening game can we? Then face Arizona

ESPN doesn't take any of the conference alignments into their bracket. Although if conferences continue growing they're will be a point that it's impossible to avoid.

Can we at least have Iowa play Friday so I can enjoy the first day of the tournament vs. a loss on Thursday and souring my day? Thanks in advance...:)

That's pretty good. Most all star baseball players hit less than .333 every year.
Baseball is probably the only sport where you can have a .333 success rate and be considered a HOFer.

Actually a 1-3 record is a .250 winning percentage (1 win in 4 games). Even in baseball, .250 isn't considered too great. :)
