STOP IT! I have PTSD from the 1998 selection show when Iowa was jobbed and IONA came up later...same year as they took Indiana over us and I think we beat them twice.
God that was dreadful. At least Iowa showed some fight to end the half.

A couple of possessions later a MD player jumps on the pile, shoves Howard out and takes possession of the ball for another 3 pt attempt.

Iowa offering more resistance than Oregon at least. But goodness this roster can be overwhelmed by length and athleticism even if the opposing players have little skill.
I’m calling it now, IA is going to win this one boys…. Not because they deserve to, that’s just how bad MD is…

We're lucky. If it was Paul Szelc our starters would be on the bench with 4 fouls apiece.
Not sure Iowa has enough offensive firepower to wear down MD or even capitilize if MD tires.

This has almost all the warning signs for another 'heart breaking' loss.

Get ready for Maryland to live on the free throw line the remainder of the game. They got uncharacteristically hot from 3, so they kept taking shots after they cooled off. They'll go back to their ugly bread and butter with foul drawing drives. Refs seemed to let them play, but I think that changes.
Stirtz is going to get going from deep and we are going to win this by 15+

I guess it wasn't me after all. Crappiest first 15 minutes of offense I can remember. It's like 4 on 5 when you have no capable center or deadly shooters...
At any point in game we have 2-3 guys playing that are no threat to score outside a layup. It's hard to play offensively with that lack of scorers. Not getting a shooter that Ben found serviceable enough on defense to play was a big miss in the portal.
They don't have that "Killer" mentality at the end of games as well.
At least it won't be a fugging 11a start, like today (& maybe tomorrow & if miraculously still alive, on Friday too)
