I watched several of their games and they were bad. McDermotts time may be near the end.

any idea what was spent on this year's roster? since they don't have football, there were assumptions that schools like Creighton could buy the best of the best out of the portal and throw money around.

McDermott has earned the right to go out on his own terms. He’s been great at Creighton. But yes, this year was a disaster.

I didn't follow them enough; just knew they lost a lot.

what were the issues? chemistry? injuries?

Creighton (15-16) as a whole has been a disaster.

Preseason, both the AP and the USA Today's Coaches had them ranked #23.

I would love to know what they paid for this year's roster. Pretty sure Freeman got at least $1 million.
Make it two. He got 2 mil. ;)

really? what a joke NIL has become....

7th place in the SEC Kentucky (20-12) is not getting much from their $22M roster, either.

There was a graphic posted someplace where it showed that OF was 2nd or 3rd in the country in NIL. Unreal for how things panned out.

Well, Ben did say last year that bigs were expensive. :(

AI is kinda scary.

Q (that I typed): how much did owen freeman make in NIL at creighton?

A (copied & pasted): Based on reported figures from early 2025, former Iowa Hawkeye and current Creighton center Owen Freeman was reported to have received a significant NIL deal, with some sources citing figures around $1.8 million to $2 million in funding from Creighton. Note that these figures are based on, and in some cases from, online commentary rather than verified contractual disclosures.

Riley's at his level. He's only starting, for a MAAC team, because of a last second NCAA eligibility ruling. Hard to knock Fran for not giving him a chance.
Riley only had a handful of games where he got to 20 minutes, until the tournament. His last four games have been over 30 minutes each, all 40 in the championship.

ESPN last week had top 25 portal player. Stirtz #2 behind guy from Michigan who had 3 guys on the list. Pryce was top 10.

I’d love to see list of top 25 bust. Freeman top 5 for sure. I’ve read any where from $1.2-2 million range for him and Dix. Guess question is where does he go next year and who is willing to pay him what.

For those who remember freeman’s career so far kind of reminds me of Guy Rucker. Great freshman year feel like sky is the limit and for certain reasons (work ethic a question on both) never tapped that full potential and regressed over their career.

Yes. He's starting because of the NCAA ruling around Chandler's eligibility, which happened between the end of the regular season and the conference tourney.

OF should give Riley a share of his big ol' bucks. ;)
