Here's the reason for not practicing in Bridgestone...

1) Kam is going to play and Pope didn't want the other teams see him practicing

2) And Pope wanted to have a a full practice for Kam instead of just 30 minutes which is all they would get in Bridgestone

Don't ask me who I got the info from because I can't say....but everybody would know who it is

Anyone expecting Kam to be a giant difference maker is likely gonna be disappointed. Guy had one great game that drove expectations higher and is likely quite rusty, which means it will be even harder to get close to those expectations.

Be realistic, folks.

Jelly will be making money playing basketball for the next 15 years🌎
Kam will be coaching & around the Ky program for many years.
Jelly has been screwed by Pope‘s substitution rotation & next year playing for Vandy or Florida or Ole Miss will show BBN his true talent.
I’ll mark this dumb prediction. Jello couldn’t be a star for Redwood High.

Well, they did practice in Bridgestone Arena before the Gonzaga game, and uh, that didn’t go so well.

Good point, but, at least gives fans some hope.

Unless Williams somehow becomes the next Jokic or SGA, his return isn’t going to mean anything, if he did return, which doesn’t make sense, because UK is 2 losses away from packing it up for the season.

Jelavic’s only problem is, he’s too nice and doesn’t complain and cause drama like some of the others, so got to be this team’s “whipping boy”, for the lack of a better term, and honestly, I’m surprised Pope even put him in the starting lineup!

I hope he stays, but after seeing what he said after the UF game, he’s about as fed up with this situation as us fans are, and no doubt, if he does leave, his next coach will utilize him correctly.

This is where we are at. Our freaking head coach...AT KENTUCKY...thinks we need a "secret weapon"...that secret weapon is averaging like 6 pts/game...on Wednesday of the SECT...against the effing 16 seed. Go back and read that again. THIS is where we are. Unreal.

I don't think this really had ANYTHING to do with Kam lol.

I can buy the wanting more practice time tho. I figure with us being the first game, maybe logistically it just made sense to practice in one area compared to another.

......and no I don't think it will have made much difference regardless what happens today.

I can buy that we wanted a full practice instead of the condensed slot available on the tournament floor.

Your first reason is absolute nonsense though. Pre-game availability reports are a requirement in our league, so it’s not like keeping our practice out of sight allows us to spring it on everyone out of nowhere that Kam is playing. Also, I do like Kam, but he doesn’t cause us to drastically change our style when he’s in the game. There’s really nothing to be gained competitively by playing coy about his status. This is just silly, and I don’t believe you.

Yep, very rusty. And I'd be shocked if he hits even one three today. Lots of misses as he gets back into the flow of the game.

We'd have to win the first 2 games and get to UF while playing at least 15-20 mins per game to brush off any rust. I'll be shocked if we even make it past today. The up and down season and bad play making / play calling / substitution decisions are going to be the end of the road. Will we even win the first game in the NCAAs (will we even get in)?

we shouldn't practice too much...what with the tiredness and ****. If Pope is any where near accurate in his ranking of exhaustion being an issue, i don't know how we play in any tournament.

The status we announced publicly is reserved for players 75% likely to play so we’re not going to be springing anything on the world. This is fluff hype but at least it’s upbeat.

Nashville has been the scene of two of the worst beat downs in UK history. This season. Mark Pope and his team gets tired just looking at the place from the street.

"Didn't want other teams to see him practicing."

We announced last night he's probable. There's no surprise. It's unlikely Kam plays a ton of minutes. But there's plenty of tape on him to scout. It's not like we were hiding some great secret from them by preventing them from watching a practice.

That's like doing homework and failing, Then deciding there's a negative correlation and no homework or studying.must be the answer.
