Recent rains have fire ant mounds rising up, easy to see. While dusting what seemed like a hundred today, I kicked over some mounds for reconnaissance.
Lots of eggs. A few mounds had several cadets that were just awarded wings, will take flight soon. The swarm is coming. When they take flight, a favorite target of experienced pilots is the back of your neck, and inside your shirt.
