Paul Kenny the 1 seed at 126. He ll breeze to a title but not for lack of competition .He’ll have a lock haven commit in the quarters and an App State commit in semis. Finals tbd but most likely an army commit. Random fact Reese Humphreys son is a freshman and in this bracket.
Bobby Duffy top seed at 144. Should cruise to semis then have either a Hofstra or Northwestern recruit and a rematch from team states in the finals against Rutgers recruit DeGeorge. Duffy controlled the most recent matchup but hes 1-1 against him in high school overall
Sonny Amato should breeze to the finals but may see Frank Molinaro nephew in the 1/4s (just a freshman amato will pin him) , a Virginia commit in the semis and a final against either a nationally ranked sophomore or nationally ranked jr whose committed to Princeton. Both guys in the finals are capable of pulling an upset.
All 3 guys are favored to win. If Kenny doesn’t win it might go down as the biggest upset in NJ history. Duffy is in for a tough final. Amato could bonus a kid in the finals or drop a close one just depends which version shows up.

Is new jerseys state tournament streamed on flo? Or any other streaming options? Thanks for the rundown!
It used to be on flo and it was great but NJ.com bought the rights a few years ago to the dismiss of everyone and they stream the whole tournament on their site but they make you buy passes, either a day pass , whole weekend or finals. It’s a scam the finals used to be broadcast for free on the local nj news channel
Darn iowa kinda did the same thing for a few years switched back to PBS this year. If they all make the finals might have a descion to make. Thanks for the info

Amato’s opponent is a tough kid. Not big national results but his dad coaches D3 at Centenary
Yea all those Phillipsburg kids are tough as it gets. They don’t lay down for anyone, I was still surprised Amato couldn’t land a Takedown though
Kenny has 2x state medalist (3rd and 8th) and App State recruit Dalton Weber in the semis. Weber is tough but not on Kenny level. Weber lost 11-7 to Duffy at states last season.
Duffy has 2x state medalist (2nd and 8th) and Northwestern recruit Seach Hilber in the semis. Hilber is a dangerous pinner and actually has placed higher than Duffy ever has. Duffy looks pretty unbeatable so far though.
just a heads up Duffy is one of those guys with rubber knees that bend in directions knees are not supposed too so be prepared to hold your breathe or cringe every time he’s in a scramble the next 4 years
Amato has 1x placer (4th,R12 2x) in the semi.I think he’s on a different level but he didn’t look good earlier today. His possible finals match up looks like it could be best of the bunch.

When Duffy committed ill admit didnt know much about him. The more I've followed him this year im thrilled he's gonna be a hawk rooting big time for him. And thanks for the heads up!
Paul kenny punches his ticket to the finals was up 14 3 late in the 3rd then got a takedown and 4 backs for the 21 3 tech!

Duffy with a controlled 6 1 win in to the finals early takedown in the first with a couple near fall points then got an escape in the 2nd opponent could only muster an escape in the 3rd
Aamto in the finals after a scoreless 1st he rode his opponent the whole 2nd period then in the 3rd gets the reversal and a 3 point near fall for the 6 0 win

Karenbauer and Hohman are both from Grove City of Wendell August Forge and Here’s Howe fame. Their coach, Wes Phipps, wrestled at PSU.
Sonny Amato wins his 2nd NJ state title with a 8 0 major descion. And Bobby Duffy is a first time state champion with a 14 1 MD what a tournament for Duffy!
Kenny the headliner tonight should be taking the mat in about a half-hour
Bachmann barely beat Amato’s opponent 4-3, so this win is encouraging!
