This may be a fever dream, but does anybody else remember a commercial with Jackie Wayne and Dog Brewer, maybe for a restaurant in oxford or Starkville? The Sneaky Tiki maybe?

Edit: just remembered, it was for the blue marlin which I believe the sneaky tiki was attached to

“Well hello…Scott.” That whole commercial was so awkward. Scott McKinney was in it too.

"Roll that beautiful bean footage."

Those Bush's baked bean commercials from the mid-90s were solid. A talking golden retriever can sell anything

Not gonna lie, when I first saw the Ram truck God made a farmer commercial I shed a little tear.
I have often wondered why State doesn't do a take-off of that ad with Mississippi scenes and play it on the Jumbotron before a home egg bowl. I mean, nobody ever says, "so God made a lawyer."

In MS one you have to consider is the political ad campaign by Delbert Hoseman....The "Gilbert, Dilbert, Inglebert" ad is what single handedly got him elected.

I have never been able to find any video evidence of the leadco shuffle to show my wife. Thanks for posting this.

I used to sit at my dad’s business on Saturdays and watch whatever movie they had on, but also enjoyed the Jerry Clower promotions.

You forgot to add the HAWWWWW at the end. Haha. That was the only Leedco commercial i could find with Clower in it

The answer is DeBeers “A diamond is forever”. Coined in 1947. DeBeers convinced half the population of the globe that a diamond was the ultimate symbol of love and the other half had to go along with it because , well, it’s undefeated. They also set the standard of 3 months salary should be minimum. This made the ring not just for the rich anymore. All the while on the backside they had control of most of the mines and bought any excess supply up so they could completely control the market and make the stones appear “rare”. There has never been anything done like it and people still buy the engagement ring hype today as evident on women’s hands everywhere and p. Every bridal magazine in any store.

Not greatest of all time, but this 1990 clapback at upcoming Japanese luxury brands was well done:

If you're really old, you remember when cable first came out and WGN out of Chicago was one of the only channels on cable. The commercial was "588-2300 E M P I R E !!!!"

No Super Bowl ads. I’m talking about a long term ad campaign that killed it

I’m going with EF Hutton
Old alka seltzer ads. "I did my bird calls"...LOL "Where's the beef?" Geico caveman ads. I can't remember them all, probably leaving some out.

The budweiser real men of genius commercials were absolutely brilliant............

There's a ton of them that were just on the radio that were never released for TV...........

Here's one that is reflective of 99.99% of the posters on this board...........

BTW, funny fact here but the guy that is singing in these commercials was Dave Bickler. If that name doesn't ring a bell, well he was the original lead singer for Survivor and sang "Eye of the Tiger". This was before Jimi Jamison took over. He went from eye of the tiger to hits like "mr. giant taco salad inventor", "mr. pro sports heckler guy, "mr. pushup bra inventor", "mr. silent gas passer guy", "mr. footlong hotdog inventor", "mr. really bad toupet wearer", "mr. in the car nose picker", "mr. over zealous foul ball catcher", "mr. 80spf sunblocker wearer", "mr. baseball stadium glove wearing guy", "mr. tiny bikini thong wearer", "mr. male football cheerleader guy". Don't get too sensitive because I KNOW some of these apply to you guys.

My favorite was

" Real men turn cartwheels and somersaults on the sidelines tucked safely away from the real action "

Here's a collection of 50:
