On Friday, when we clinched the match against Tennessee at 4-0, three other matches were in progress. They were allowed to continue, and the record book shows we won 7-0.

On Sunday, when we clinched the match against Georgia at 4-2, one other match was in progress, and it was halted. (It was close to being over and we probably would have won it, too.) The record book shows we won 4-2.

Question: Why do some matches have continuations after the match has been clinched while others stop all play.

Good question. I know in a tournament situation, you almost always just drop the matches in progress (no sense in wasting energy on a match that's already won when you've got another one later). Don't know why they do it sometimes in regular season and sometimes don't.

Because the coaches / players agree to continue with their matches. There are no set rules regarding whether to continue with the matches, or not.
