Lowe and Kam Williams don't get hurt...? (Not counting JQ because that was such a huge gamble on Pope's part)

How many more games would they have won....?

They would have been ever so slightly better...maybe. Jelly improved as the year went on. Without injuries, he rots on the bench. Maybe we beat Auburn with Kam & Lowe.

How many minutes does each play and whose minutes do they take ?? Increased production and better defense are the keys.

Losing Kam hurt us the most. He gave us some 3pt shooting along with defense.
JQ could have been a big contributor on defense for rim protection, but we didn’t get to see him really.
DA did a good job playing and learning a new position, he made losing Lowe an upgrade IMO.

Yeah I mean we beat UNC with Dioubate and Lowe in the lineup.

We beat Mizzou if we're healthy

We beat UGA if we're healthy

We beat Auburn if we're healthy.

Probably a 4 seed in the big dance.

Still a failure, but much less of a failure.

People need to remember that we never saw Lowe healthy. He got hurt early in the B&W game.

We played ZERO games with a healthy Lowe, who was an All-ACC guard a year ago.

I simply cannot understand how a guy who shot more airballs than made 3's except against Bellarmine is considered such a loss that he would have changed the season.
I simply do not understand that.

Williams had started hitting the 3 and with him, teams wouldn’t be able to sell out to stop Chandler. JQ would have been able to power against their big. Not sure Lowe would have made the difference but Kam and JQ would,

I don’t think they’d live up to the preseason expectations, but it would’ve been a better season than this one. Probably finish the SEC in the 3-5 range and be viewed as a 4-5 seed in the NCAAT.

Watching game number 1 I told my son the point guard is going to keep us from going far and/or having a dominant season.

Lowe just isn’t it.
Just curious, are you basing that on what you saw from him in pre-season or regular season? I'm only asking because he hurt his shoulder in one of the exhibition games and any minute he played in the regular season was with one arm duct taped on. I believe he is a capable point guard, not a star but good enough on a team with a couple stars at other positions. He has that ability to beat people off the dribble that we seem to lack but face all too often.

I think we'd have won a couple extra games maybe if Kam Williams was healthy.

JQ showed against St. Johns that he would have made a big difference if he'd gotten healthy.

The way pope subs it doesnt matter...we've lost countless games bc he pulls ppl when we're ahead to have the opponent go on a huge run
When should he sub? When we are behind? When we are tied? When there is only a few minutes left in the game and we are way ahead? Or would you have him just leave the starters in every minute of the game? I bet anything that if he rarely subbed, people would be in here complaining that we are losing because he never subs and the starters are wore out.

So you judged that Lowe couldn’t cut it based on a couple of minutes in the first game? Wow. Tell your son not to pay attention to you. Another fan that doesn’t know the game.

We have one key injury. That’s Lowe. And that’s two years in a roll we don’t have a pg when march rolls around. Blame whoever or whatever but that’s the facts.

Kerr krissa could have played last march just like JQ can play right now.

we got a cuck for a coach. Now yall defend him.

Lowe is average, at least from what I have seen, at best regarding being at UK

Larger version of the guard that transferred from GA that couldn't throw a dime in the fountain. In fact Lowe may not be as good especially passing

It’s hard to say. We absolutely missed Lowes ball handling but teams would have abused him on defense a lot more than Aberdeen and Oweh .

You work subs into the game mixed mostly with starters when you have a weak bench, not wholesale substitutions. Also when a player is hot you let them cook, not sit them down and cool them off. Popes playing defense for the other team. Also pope all to often has lineups on the floor that are just awful. Pope just doesn’t have a feel for the game on the sidelines. Hes a deer in headlights!!!

Right but that still means he’s a pretty good player. He beat out other guards like Elliot Cadeau, etc.

Right now we are relying on Jasper Johnson and Trent Noah for perimeter minutes.
Say Lowe wasn’t injured. We would still be relying on JJ and Noah because that’s what we got.

if Lowe was healthy we are probably still 9th in the sec if not worse. He seemed to play hero ball more than Oweh in the limited minutes I seen. Or he seemed exactly like the player I heard about all season. Takes a bunch of funky shots because he had to is what Pope said. Well he came here and still took a bunch of selfish shots. Wheeler was a better pg. by a large amount. Lowe being injured isn’t our problem.

I believe the season looks different with a freshman point guard we had locked up. We ran him off for second team all acc shot chunker with a shoulder injury. Five assist a game? Shooting 47%? So many small things Pope does that add up to disaster.

On top of availability.. freshman Acaden is 10 pounds heavier and an inch taller. I bet Pope goes to yard sales and gives people more than the asking price. You want ten bucks? Here’s 100.

If Lowe and Williams play all season, I believe we finish 22-9. Better but not great. Had we kept Lewis then I say 25-6. But pope is a very bad recruiter so point is moot lol

Yes, I *think* we would have been better. How much better? I have no clue. Would we have been what was expected preseason? I doubt it, because some of the guys we counted on just aren't as good as projected (Jasper, BG). But no one knows....next year will be telling.
With a healthy JQ, KW and JL, there’d be zero need for either of BG and JJ. lol

We would have undoubtably won some more games.

But it would still be a rudderless ship.

Lowe, Aberdeen, and Oweh mixed together worse than oil and water, and that’s what was causing the early chemistry problems, and why Lowe bowed out with a “shoulder” injury, so there’s no way to know, except the the record would have been even worse.

And JQuit is a wash, because he can do nothing basketball wise except for jumping and raising his hands to challenge shots in the paint.

Yeah, tell that to Pope who was always going to play 12 dudes, come hell or high water!
I cannot disagree lmao I just don’t understand that aspect of his coaching. That’s just WAY too many dudes getting minutes. Hell, we rarely played 12 guys in 1996, and we absolutely could’ve. I mean, we did, in blowouts. Regular type of game, we played like 10.

Maybe 2-3 more wins at most.

I think Kam could’ve helped us. Never been sold on Lowe.

Maybe 1-2 wins.

It doesn’t seem like much, but it’s worth a seed line or two.

We never had the talent to be elite. That was an illusion.

Fully healthy, we are probably something like a 4 or 5 seed. With a little luck, a 3 seed.

A 3 seed might seem high, but the 12th best team is theoretically a 3. If they were 15-20, a 3 could be in the cards due to the Q1 opportunities in the conference and a little luck.

Silas Demary Jr.- Pope whiffed on him bc Hurley was involved just like Braylon Mullins.
