Not worried if he will be able to recruit to Rutgers. Wonder who he will surround himself with on the bench. Needs to hire a staff with high level coaching experience. Specifically seasoned coaches with major head coaching or senior staffers. Kelli has been preparing to make a hire her whole career. She knows this will set a precedent.

Sounds like Tammy Reiss really screwed herself with her contract extension and buyout. Not sure why someone that wishes to make the jump to a higher profile position would want a lengthy contract. Especially one that is 6 years.

Can you say more Kupuna on Reiss?

Zinn definitely moved FAST here...which feels weird given we landed an assistant--if this person hadn't worked at LSU, would they have even been a candidate? If they reached out to Fairfield and Columbia coaches and were turned down, I get it...but there are still coaches out there with actual HC experience.

That being said, I do appreciate that Zinn is moving fast and with confidence. She will own this decision fully, so hopeful Redus is a great fit.

Can't say if he's the best choice, will say I think he's a good choice to turn the programs fortunes around .
He's also the one I expected Zinn to hire because Keli knows him from her LSU days and probably feels thire vision is the same on what the program needs to do to make the program sucessful
Widely regarded as one of the top recruiters in the country, Redus was named to the WBCA’s prestigious “Thirty Under 30” list in 2020. Redus has built a reputation for identifying elite talent throughout his coaching career. He helped LSU assemble nationally ranked recruiting classes during his time, including a pair of unanimous No. 1 classes in 2023 and 2025.

She just might like it there and not want to leave, even for a more prestigious program.

They discussed her contract on the sites recent podcast. And it was mentioned on why they may have moved past her.

She lobbied for this and other recent openings. She wants a higher profile job.
I stand corrected.
Guess she opted for security and now has it at the expense of getting a high profile position and the money that comes with it

yeah its clear they had this choice in mind months ago because of the relationship. It sort of rubs me the wrong way because you want a search and reach out to multiple people. I guess after the Fairfield coach said no they were going to go right to getting the gang back together again

that said its an interesting hire that has potential to work although i would be worry about severing ties if he fails given their close relationship

The LSU of the north…Maybe Rutgers can take away their football coach, too…the current one, not the former one 😎

hope he can bring RUWBB to the lofty perch it used to occupy

He’d be better off not posting. Especially considering his livelihood kind of depends on it.

This post is actually my favorite.

He’s impresssed that the new coach is contacting AAU. Coaches?!?!? I would be concerned if he wasn’t.

Credibility fail.. big time.
I know nothing here.. but im now shooting a higher % lol.
