Good, yes but the best match ever IMO was the Hell in the Cell match between The Undertaker and Mankind. , , , ,Mick Foley is lucky to be alive after that match or at least alive and still able to walk. . . . .Maybe not the best match of all time but certainly the most impactful to the "sport" was Wrestlemania 3 (Hogan vs Andre the Giant). . . . .That match catapulted the WWF. . . . .Hell in a Cell match between the Undertaker and Sean Michaels is legendary as well. . . . .The Andy Kaufmann and Jerry Lawler fued may not have been the best match of all time but the kayfabe and story around it is legendary. . . . . Kaufmann was a genius. . . . .

Hell in the Cell between Undertaker and Foley is probably my favorite but Flair/Steamboat in 89 would be in the consideration for me.

Flair/Steamboat is considered to be at the top of the list, especially for American pro wrestling.

Undertaker/Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania and the Taker/Foley Hell in a Cell are personal favorites.

I remember watching that hell in a cell live. We all thought Foley was for real dead for a few minutes.

Okada v. Kenny Omega at WrestleKingdom 11 is still my #1 of all time.

There was also a Tag Team match at I think NXT Takeover in 2016, DIY vs. The Revival in a 2/3 falls match and it is still the best tag match I've ever seen. Maybe Bucks vs. Lucha Bros at All Out 2019.

If I go with the first one that came to mind, it was the Mick Foley/Undertaker cage match, so brutal. Flair/Steamboat is also in the running. Was never a Warrior fan

I just can't take any list without Starcade Sting/Hollywood Hogan, the Hogan/Warrior rematch, or WMXX Goldberg/Lesnar seriously

This was pure pageantry

Either Steamboat vs Macho WM 3, or Stone Cold vs Bret WM 13. Don’t get me started on the classics from NWA/WCW 80s.

I haven’t watched since I was young but I grew up with mid south and wcw in 80’s. Rock and roll express were my guys. I don’t know if I’ve ever hated anyone as much as I did Jim Cornett when I was about 10 years old.

Every Saturday morning Mid-South Wrasslin on WMC TV for 90 minutes with Lance (Banana Nose) Russell & Dave Brown was must see television when I was Middle School & Junior High 1976 thru the early 1980's
I think the Saturday morning studio wrestling started even before 1976?
I know that whatever my Dad had us doing on Saturday, mowing grass, changing the oil in the car/truck, didn’t matter, at 11:00 AM we were inside watching wrestling waiting on Mom to fix us lunch.
Good times!!

I wish I could have seen some of the Piper in Portland matches. Piper was always my favorite of all time and grossly underrated

I’m a child of the 2000’s and more recent but I’ll throw a few out there.

Michaels vs Undertaker Wrestlemania 2009
Michaels vs Angle Wrestlemania 2005
Austin vs Hart Wrestlemania 1997
Rock vs Austin Wrestlemania 2001
TLC II (Hardy’s vs Dudley’s vs Edge & Christian) Wrestlemania 2001
Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns Wrestlemania 2024
Cena vs Punk MITB 2011

Someone else mentioned it earlier but the best series of matches ever, IMO, is the Omega vs Okada series from 2017 and 2018 from New Japan. AEW has had a number of bangers in its brief history, there are about half a dozen that qualify as some of the best I’ve ever seen. I have a soft spot for high quality tag team wrestling and there are a number of AEW tag matches that are the cream of the crop, most of them involving the Young Bucks.

For the old WCW enthusiasts, Mysterio vs Guerrero at Halloween Havoc is maybe the best match that company ever put on.

Both of those guys during their prime were some of the best in the business. It’s wild how WCW constantly treated guys like Mysterio, Guerrero, Benoit, and Jericho as mid card(at best) guys.

Say what you want about how Vince and now HHH have diluted WWE to the point where it is what it is today, but in the 90s/00s, they had an eye for talent that was just uncanny

My all time favorite WM match was Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle at WM 17. It had it all....mat wrestling, brawling, high flying, ring psychology, a hot crowd, and a clean submission ending.

I’ve been slowly rewatching old WWF shows from the year 2000 on and the talent they accumulated once WCW and ECW started to fold was unreal. And that’s not even counting guys like Mysterio who stayed at WCW until the very end and didn’t show up in WWF/E until a couple of years later.

That’s a really good one.

Stone Cold and Brett Hart is good too with the heel turn at the end.
