It’s shocking how uncompetitive this series has been. At some point you gotta show some pride.
When you’re as bad as we are at the plate, it’s so easy for the opposing team to play care free and just not swing freely. That’s what you’re seeing. Pitchers have in their mind they have to be perfect, that never ends well.
We only lost Jake Knapp from last years staff. What happened?
Also Forbes hyped up Boaz so much prior to the year….dont see any difference between the guy Miami destroyed before he got injured his Freshman year and now
I love Carolina baseball so much, but this is flat out depressing. It looks like we just don’t have any pride. It seems like we’ve already given up.
I’m thinking sharpening your sword with LeMoyne the weekend before starting ACC play was probably not the best idea.
That’s the most depressing aspect. Losing is one thing…but these guys are just going through motions. Forbes said he was looking for the response after game 1 and it appears we got worst case scenario
This weekend is honestly as bad as I’ve ever seen at the Bosh. Completely outplayed but also no one seems fired up or showing any emotion on the Diamond.
Yes but this is different. I remember facing Jenkins from ECU and thinking wow these guys can’t even see the ball leaving his hand…swinging at pitches landing in the dirt before they even reached home plate…we’ll face a lot better arms this year than this Virginia team is offering and we’ve proven we can do nothing offensively
But Jadyn Nunez got to hit a grand slam off of an 85 MPH fastball in a game we won by a dozen runs!

What I don’t like is how Nicholson took that K looking like it was nothing and didn’t care. At least care! Show some fight. Or let the young players get some ABs
Everyone realizes that you book series with teams but you don’t pick which weekends you play them, right?
You absolutely pick when you play in the non conference.
Yall Lemoyne is not the problem…this team has no fight or energy regardless if we played Lenoir Rhyne last week….
One team has some motivation and passion. Beating the hell out of us and still excited about a diving play to end the inning on a hard hit ball. We are striking out looking and ho, hum
It sucks. I was there last night and for game one today, but I had to come home because of a cat emergency. Our dugout was just so dang quiet, and seemed to have absolutely no energy. UVA’s dugout was chirping and yelling the entire game, both games really. Even when it was 0-0, they were always hyping each other up. I just don’t know what is going on with this team. I know our boys care, but it certainly doesn’t look like they do. Cooper is concerning though. He definitely is on the struggle bus defensively, but he hasn’t been lighting it up at the plate either. It’s just a mess.
Pollard always has his teams playing with an edge - great skipper who Can really identify talent
So you tell the other team when they are gonna play you? So what if Lemoyne was also playing Kentucky this year and Kentucky wanted to play them last weekend. Who do they play?

Chance for Glauber to give us a spark here if he can miss some bats. We need to get him into the weekend rotation IMO, especially if he gives us a strong outing here.
we look awful but I just can't wrap my head around a team with th May guys who will get drafted is this bad but we sure are right now
Same thing at first two games and planned to stay for game 3 and skip basketball but headed home. Our guys looked completely out of it from first pitch. Just completely different from normal and can’t put finger on it.

Yeah, you’re wrong. You pick who you play when in non-conference. Of course both teams have to agree to it. Who would have chosen when we played if we didn’t? The ACC?
I don’t think that has much of anything to do with this weekend. I saw a lot of these offensive issues against Indiana. Their starters generally held us down in that series until we feasted on bad bullpen arms.
So how do you think it works? They put the names in a hat to decide which weekend?
Makes me wonder how much of our emotion the last two years was Knapp, even when he was injured.

You absolutely determine the timing of your non conference series’. We play ECU the second weekend every year. Because we choose to.
Also, UVA is going to be good as long as Pollard is there. I talked to a member of their staff yesterday after the game who went to the same high school I did. I didn’t talk any specifics about this match-up or series but he basically described going from Duke to UVa as a whole different world when it comes to baseball support.
Sure, get tossed. Maybe it fires the team up. But it was too close to take with 2 strikes
What are you talking about we don’t pick the series? You schedule your non conference series with the opposition and absolutely schedule the dates as mutual agreement between the two parties. Just like football and basketball.
For the record, I don’t think last weekend has any impact on how we’re playing right now but we absolutely chose to schedule them as our third OOC series.
Well softball just walked off the Hoos to even the series on a 3 run blast by LeGette in the 8th. LFG!
Schedules have to be deconflicted. They’re generated. You answer does not address my scenario. Who makes the decision? If ECU can’t play the weekend we did, and Lemoyne wont move their game, who makes the decision? Other teams play other teams. Why do we wait for a schedule release if we pick it?
