I don’t blame the fans that are there. I know I wouldn’t show up if I had season tickets and lived nearby.

Jans is a defensive minded coach. He's doing a bang up job! Can't wait for another year of his expertise.

In your opinion, who would you rather have as your coach.....Jans or Mike White?

Simply looking at the data, White seems to be able to build a program. Jans seems pretty good at totally destroying one.
Mike White took Billy Donovan’s (back to back national champion) program and made it nationally irrelevant outside of one Elite 8 run with Billy D’s players

I choose to believe Jans is a good coach who's team had a really bad year. It was evident in the first half of that first game he had a talent problem, and painfully obvious by that Southeastern LA game they had bigger issues.

But in this era of college sports, the seat is hopefully already hot. I hope he gets a chance to course correct and I really hope that happens. But he should get ONE chance, not several more years.

Coach mailed it in after last Bama loss.
Somewhat agree with this. I think we'll be searching for a coach after the SEC tourney is over.....and Zach won't have anything to do with it. I feel Jans has been lukewarm about living in Starkvegas. He made the right move in quadrupling his salary from NMXST to MSU, but I think his excitement for the job has worn off this year. I think Zach is willing to give him another year, but Jans isn't likely willing to stay. He'll probably find another job like K-State or Wichita St. etc. and head on off. Would be smart for Zach to start dusting off his potential's short list. Maybe look for somebody like another Nate Oats or Mark Byington type. Just make sure the next HC is a successful rural/small market one who absolutely would have no problem living in our quaint village on the eastern plains of Mississippi.

Mike was really good at LaTech....but Jans was also good at NMXST. Kind of a wash to me.

I don’t understand why & how a bball coach struggles here. I also don’t understand how a coach in general can leave a state like us when they’re WINNING!! Once you get it going, the keys are your’s; you can do whatever you want. Why leave to go waller in somebody else’s ****?

This would make a lot of sense just judging from his postgames chats, Jan’s isn’t happy with whats going on at Miss State. It’s possible that he was made to keep certain coaches and players and has had to work around people that are basically impossible to work with.

It's also possible that he's a terrible talent evaluator and recruiter, which are clearly more important than coaching ability when it cames to winning college basketball games.

The grass is always greener. And, then, it’s not.

One thing is for sure with Jans. He desperately wanted that Arkansas job. So many more resources with which to mask his terrible talent evaluation.
