Seriously can a far different demo please be given a chance

It would be nice if the author showed they have some knowledge of the problem...but alas there is this "Schools can’t pay the athletes directly. Instead they must turn to NIL collectives, so-called booster organizations that rely on the same donor base funding other needs such as labs and new dorms. "

Um....YES, schools CAN pay the athletes directly; NIL collectives fill in gaps beyond that. But, why waste my breath.

And as for Levine, as a Yankee fan, maybe he should focus first on fixing his own team!

Yikes...

Actually Randy Levine is a smart guy and not only is involved in contracts with pros but also recruits kids out of HS and college which gives him perspective. Whether he can fix it or not is another question - not sure a lot of folks can but at least its something to get the ball rolling.

This is something we have been hoping for but it will still need laws behind it which to me is the biggest stumbling block besides all of the wacky D1 universities that can't agree or govern themselves.

Who is Amanda Christovich? and who was that unnamed "Power 4 senior administrator" who commented. She and the administrator obviously didn't listen to the comments by Levine who specifically called out the need to get the student athletes involved in the process AND college administrators were part of the core group that was present.. This group needs to get the process defined as to how they will proceed. If they want to save college sports, as advertised, they need to do more than just fix the transfer rules. Guard rails on $$$$ has to be high on their list to manage. Everyone acknowledged that this is not an easy fix......getting a solution that is "law suit proof" is the real challenge...... but finally we have a start. I commend Trump for getting involved and putting this group together. Surely there's going to be naysayers.... but jeez.... give it a chance.

The title of this thread is somewhat misleading. He's a co-chair of the committee.

The student-athletes, coaches, and administrators are all self serving, co conspirators. If you want to actually try to improve the current landscape keep them the hell away until some kind of framework can be established.

Yeah I don't know who that unnamed source was but they were inaccurate. There were some randoms in there (Lou Lamoriello?) there were several ADs, presidents, and commissioners, including Ackerman there. But regardless, nothing will ever be done until Congress grants an antitrust exception, which is highly unlikely.

So the people who ruined college sports are saying the people in the meeting don’t know how college sports work. Think it’s fair to say the people actually running college sports know less about how they work than the people in that meeting. It wouldn’t be such a disaster if they knew what they were doing.
