I'm Trae's dad and so you know. every recruit picks the school based off of a relationship with the coach. Because what all these kids are going to school for they can get a most schools. My son stating he is committed to Coach Rhule is because there is nothing else at this time to hang his hat on. While learning about the school. So if he Rhule left yes he has great relationships with other coaches right now. If Rhule leaves after he is there, I'd beat Trae wouldn't leave as he is finding he loves Lincoln. Trust when I say Nebraska what they offered from other schools are not even top 5. Yet in the year he has been committed no visits to other schools. Shut down recruitment early. Moving to Lincoln his Sr year. What the hell else more do you want from these young men. FYI none of you are seeing how this class the 26 class and what they will do with the 28 class. Im willing to bet the core of this 27 class stays together.
Whether you are his Dad or not - your post is a very reasonable message and seems to fit Trae's personality. We have all loved the kid from day 1 and cannot WAIT for him to arrive. He seems like an old school recruit, the type most of us wish there were move of. In a day of greed and lacking loyalty, as fans we feel burned. Burned by the sport that we all loved so much.
So when a poster talks about Trae leaving if Rhule leaves, or his teammates leaving, or any of the above - it's not because of Trae and who he is, it's because of the mess of a sport he plays in. We all hope order is restored and kids commitments will keep them around at least 3, maybe 4-5 years.
I have a hard time getting excited about recruiting these days because they are 18 and most of them will see dollar signs and jump at the first sign of more money. We all hope Trae isn't that guy, but the odds are against it when comparing to the thousands of CFB players out there.
I hope this '27 class does what the '08 class COULD have done if Callahan had fired his buddy and kept the class together. I am hopeful but my optimism is being pushed to the limit because of how kids are acting these days. Not to mention our coaching situation is pretty shaky right now.
