Was that the best 2 minutes of the 2025-26 season?

That was soooo much fun to watch. If you recall two years ago, MSU basically had a party at our expense with Tom Izzo's son scoring his first points. So probably not a coincidence that he got RU scheduled on senior night this year. On queue, with a little less than 2 minutes to go, he clears the bench & brings in all the seniors, figuring he's going to have another celebration at our expense.

Mad kudos to our guys for playing out of their minds in those last two minutes and having none of that. Like USC's meltdown, it was too little too late. But still, so awesome. It was the most fun I had watching this season.

What did I miss ? Was it actually close ???

I turned the game off when MSU started a dunk line in the second half with like 4 dunks in a row and up 17

Funny because my daughter watched about 2 minutes of the game with me. It was that sequence of dunks and alley-oop slams.

You should be able to find the game in it's entirety on YouTube - Watch the last 2 minutes of game time if you missed it.

Izzo empties the bench every Senior Night, so the players who are graduating get to kiss the logo at center court, which has been a tradition for many many years, last night was the first time in forever they did not get the chance to kiss the logo on Senior Night

That was so much fun to watch. My wife and I were looking at each other asking if this was really happening. Glad we stayed with it as we almost gave up when down 19. Loved it when he had to take the bench seniors out.

It was a 19 point deficit with 6:12 left, and then with 2:36 remaining, RU was down 79-63 when Manny, who had been on a heater, had a 3-point play to start a 24-10 run, cutting the deficit to 2 points with 3 seconds left. We fouled and they made both.

honestly don't understand why we don't play a pressure full court press more often, especially when Pike isnt afraid to play 10 guys.
Agreed, it worked against USC as well. Our defense is not good in the half court anyway, it’s the only positive thing this team does defensively is when it’s pressing. Not saying we would have won a bunch of more games, but certainly made more sense considering it’s the only thing this group is remotely effective at defensively and like you pointed out we rotate in 10 guys minimum.

A team that lacks talent needs a means causing turnovers and resulting baskets.Rutgers half court offense and defense clearly is over matched against BIG Ten rivals.

I wish they could have fouled out Fears, their 90 % free throw shooter, who made those last two free throws. He had 4 fouls for a long time. Also, in the game at JMA, he also had 4 fouls and should have had a 5th on a push, but it was not called.

Missed some of game but can't believe that 4 minute stretch that Manny had. Saw highlights.

That should have been a flagrant 1 when he elbowed JMIKE in the face
