In fairness, there were a lot of instances where Michigan State broke our press and would have attacked with a numerical advantage in a normal circumstance. They just weren't inclined to do that with a big lead down the stretch.
And with their bench players.

I really don’t know how anyone who watches this team can say Pike can’t coach and doesn’t develop players. I want to see what he can do with some b10 level chess pieces.
I think we saw last year what he can do with some B10 level chess pieces.

It's not a comeback when you lose (and don't even regain the lead).
According to Google Ai:

The most accurate, commonly used phrase to describe reducing a 19-point deficit to 2 points in the final minutes is an
"furious rally" or a "furious comeback".

With all due respect to coach Izzo, what are the chances that "somebody doesn't tamper with them" ?
Besides, I don't think they call it "tampering" anymore.

Yeah has someone informed Izzo about the portal yet?

which is listed right above "how you would describe my feelings watching Grant play last night and Pike's decision to keep him in".

He loves heaping praise on Rutgers, right after increasing his winning percentage to .833 against us. Of course he loves us, but I found a program he might heap even more praise on…..PSU, he has an .844 winning percentage against them so he says even better things about them than us.

You say that but we have always played them tough back to the Corey Sanders games . The mSG games have been wars and both games this year had a lot of competitiveness. For a team like us that doesn’t defense rebound a lick that was the only thing separating us from a road victory last night. We also pretty much controlled the first game for 35 minutes. That is significant because we did not do that against Michigan or Illinois or Purdue , Nebraska or Wisconsin or UCLA the top of the Big 10. As bad as things have been this year Michigan State is the one team that we have played reasonably well against. So maybe his praise has something to do with how we play MSU. What a novel thought.

Agree with you, you are 100% correct we play them tough. I even remember when we obtained an actual victory as opposed to a moral one and beat them at MSG. It’s just that praise heaped on us from opposing coaches after they beat us (again) and moral victories some hang on to because we played someone tough are meaningless.

We also blew them out at the RAC like by 30. That game single handedly has gotten GRUnit in a tizzy that MSU was scheduled at MSG 2x and we gave up a RAC home game. He reminds people all the time. Games are all about matchups. And for some reason we play them tough and cannot compete with other teams with perceived less talent. I do believe we are a better team than earlier in the year , have clearly gotten better and when we keep our turnovers down we compete. I believe this comeback will not be meaningless but will instill confidence for the last few games of the year.
