It very well could be true, especially considering that Hegseth and Caine have been (according to multiple sources and even direct quotes I think) surprised at the efficacy of Iran's Shahed drones

DoD knows full well about the damn OWA threat, all the intel assessments passed up the chain noted it, and all were based on the 12 Day War findings and with Ukraine experience.
I do read them. I also know not to entirely dismiss them out of hand if they report info I don't like. There are multiple outlets and sources reporting that we seem somewhat surprised by the drones and their efficacy. Not sure why that seems unthinkable to you.
We literally CANT buy interceptors from Ukraine, its ILLEGAL.
DOD CANNOT BUY AND FIELD FOREIGN MADE WEAPONS. US law requires it to be majority US-built. My company sells drones to the DoD, there are tons of laws on this topic.
