Just curious to see what Hawkeye fans have penciled in for the starters. We have most like 3 with Pieper, Lauck and Doeltzer but whom else?

With Pieper moving to center there are two open guard positions. Myslinski will get one, the other? My guess is Leighton Jones, but others here may have different opinions.
My guess:
LT- Lauck
LG- L Jones
C- Pieper
RG- Myslinski
RT- Dotzler
Edit: I forgot about the incoming transfer, Wilson. He could start or get lots of PT at a guard spot.

I could see Allgeyer competing with Myslinski and Dotzler for one of those spots. I think Jones is probably a lock for one of the Guard positions.
Do we even know if Myslinski is getting another year? He's not listed on Iowa's 2026-2027 roster.
Also, I'm not completely sold that Pieper is 100% moving to Center. Here's my way-too-early projection:
LT - Lauck

C - Cael Winter
RG - Pieper
RT - Dotzler

what do you guys think that Hudson Parliment's chances are? true freshmen usually do not play on our o-line much, but it seems like if there is a need and/or they are really good, they do (didn't Wirfs and/or Brian Bulaga play as freshmen?)
I ask this question because it just seems we have a lot of openings/needon the o-line this year.
1. I'm not sure when medical redshirts status gets decided upon. With the way the NCAA hands out extra years like candy, it seems like it should be obvious BUT we all know the NCAA can be very dumb. Ott got screwed.
2. The coaches had said he was moving and he's a pre-season AA at center, so I just based my guess off of that.
based on answers I got to a similiar question a few weeks ago, it does not appear the coaches will switch him to DL. Usually it is the other way around (Linderbaum, Logan Jones). that is all I know about it, but it seems to me it would really helpour DL if they did.
I think it is awesome (and shows serious respect to the Hawkeyes) that Pieper is rated so high at Center, without even taking a snap!

regarding Pieper, I noticed he is from Norfolk (that is the polite pronounciation) Nebraska.
Does anybody know how we got him away from Nebraska? My guess is that he was not that highly rated in HS and probably another classic under-the-radar "steal" by KF & Company, but I do not know. If anybody would care to share the story, I'd love to hear it.

I think you'll probably see Wilson, the portal offensive lineman that came in, making the two deeps. Unless he's injured, I don't see them paying him to come in to be anything less than 2nd string.
My first thought for "weak link" is Myslinski and that is purely just due to all the injuries he's had and the time away from practice and games.
With that said, I don't know much about him and his actual blocking abilities. Hopefully he can stay healthy and have a great final season!

It would be great to see a healthy Myslinski, but Trent Wilson and Lucas Allgeyer are going to be right there in the mix for that RG spot. The only other concern will be how Pieper handles the C position, having Jones next to him last year was a huge boost. Connor Colby had a monster freshman season, but when Lindy departed, he took IMO a step back.
We are going to Meat Chicken for our away game this season. Hoping the Lions are at home that Sunday also.
I'm pretty comfortable that if KF thinks he needs to be the center then that's where he needs to be. He's got a pretty good track record on that position....
Has Leonard seen the field very much since he’s been at Iowa? I believe he’s like 6’8 or something not sure what his weight is now but he’s a big dude… maybe not the greatest footwork but idk would be nice to see him step up
Listed as 6'9 309. He got in some games during blowouts last year. My guess is he's second team right tackle again, this time behind Dotzler.
He has the frame to add 40 to 50 more pounds if he can be mobile enough… but agree and thanks for the reply back as I didn’t know a ton about him GO HAWKS
Slightly OT, but since we are talking o-line.. are any of Logan Jones' weight lifting records (freshman and beyond) in danger of being taken down now that Hudson Parliament is in IC?

Lauck, Jones, Pieper seems like a lock LT LG C. That’s a hell of a left side. RG RT is where there will be great competition. My biggest concern is RT, who is going to step up?

Interesting bit on Pieper’s recruitment that Barnett shared on a podcast way back when is his shot put talent caught barnett’s eye. Barnett said he loves good throwers even if they’re undersized bc it’s a real data point for explosive movement ability.

Considering what we just graduated, this still has a pretty good chance to be a good/great OL.
Barnett has done a nice job rebuilding the OL room depth. Players really like him and he knows his business. Doesn't hurt that Kirk is a OL guru.
