The so called experts are starting to tell us that Duke is the monster that cant be stopped . They said the same thing last year
He is a really good college player, but he fouls the crap out of the other team on defense and never gets a foul called on him. On offense he takes 4 steps regularly without a dribble and nothing gets called. He is really good at bullying his way to a layup in college, but that won't work in the NBA.He might just be a really good player.
Just because we'd love to be elite again and have top notch talent, doesn't make any of us Duke fans.Man, you fawn over them like a school girl, why not live the dream
well, I just heard them fawning over Arizona last night so I guess it depends on who you’re listening to. But Duke has certainly ascended a level up in recent weeks, they’ve been even more dominant since the UNC buzzer beating loss and they also beat #1 Michigan in this recent span of games which opened people’s eyes.. I think you could argue that they’ve not been looked at as highly as several other teams for a lot of the season, but because they’ve continued to win and win and win the narrative has shifted some. The so called experts are starting to tell us that Duke is the monster that cant be stopped . You and me could coach their team, anytime 5 of the top 15 players want to go to Duke there is nothing you can do to change that. No other school has that luxury. Nobody knows what they do behind the scenes to load up the way they do, it’s got to be more than just playing for Duke. Krybaby is gone and Scheyer was the second choice and nothings changed has changed, Duck Fuke!Well unfortunately it looks like they knew what they were doing. We could learn a thing or two from choir boy. Things such as roster construction, chemistry, effort, program management and defense.
last year, they leaned on Flagg too much....he was 0-4 in the final minute of each hero-ball situation. looking back, Kon would have been a better option while flagg could have been the decoy..The so called experts are starting to tell us that Duke is the monster that cant be stopped . Last I checked, Boozer was at about 2 fouls/40How many does Boozer have over the year? Looks like he averages 1.7 a game so that would give him roughly 51 fouls on the year.

There's a vast pro Duke/anti UK conspiracy. We need to storm the NCAA headquarters until action is taken. Here is just a bit of the data. In their games against Florida, Arkansas, and Kansas he had 2 fouls in each game. None of the foul calls came when the game mattered. I’ve noted how far into a 40 minute game that the foul was called.
Florida: 2 fouls: 18th minute 39th minute
Arkansas: 2 fouls: 34th minute, 39th minute
Kansas: 2 fouls: 25th minute, 32nd minute
He did not commit a foul in the first half against Arkansas and Kansas. He didn’t manage to play 18 minutes and then 19 minutes against Florida without fouling despite Florida being loaded with bigs.
Amazing for a Freshman
This! You’re exactly right! This **** has been going on for 40+ years! Gets really old! This is WHY people hate duke. Has nothing to do with them being a good program. It has everything to do with the BS special treatment they get. They’ve been propped up and have been allowed to do anything they want, on the court, recruiting trail, not having to disclose information because they’re a “private” school, etc. for decades! It’s infuriating!I watched the referees call 2 quick ones on Michigan’s Mara to get him out of the game the other day. Wouldn’t want him suppressing Boozer. Then a couple games later, they called a couple on the Virginia big guy. This is becoming repetitive. It’s also been sickening for years. Then to hear the announcers talk about how tough Boozer is and he’s the strongest player since Hercules.
Different set of rules for different teams.
One can call it whatever they want, it’s true. I’ve been watching this since the early 90s and they’ve ALWAYS gotten an unbelievably biased whistle. It’s absolutely incredible. Hell, I saw a duke guy take 3.5 steps on a breakaway dunk in that game last night. They called him for a walk and Scheyer went absolutely ballistic over said call. I mean, it was obvious he walked. Lmao Just one example that they’re not used to being called for walks, fouls, etc. There's a vast pro Duke/anti UK conspiracy. We need to storm the NCAA headquarters until action is taken.
You need to contact law enforcement and the NCAA if this is in fact true. *Lord we have some goofy fans. I'm embarrassedOne can call it whatever they want, it’s true. Ole Jokafor and Zion were the EXACT same way and were NEVER called for an offensive foul, especially Jokafor. Those are just off the top of my head.He is a really good college player, but he fouls the crap out of the other team on defense and never gets a foul called on him. On offense he takes 4 steps regularly without a dribble and nothing gets called. He is really good at bullying his way to a layup in college, but that won't work in the NBA.
Went back and watched most of this game yesterday after this post. Man, I forgot just how clutch Tayshaun was, especially in this game! He hit two absolute CLUTCH shots in regulation, in which we should’ve won! Then, got that CLEAN block on JW! Hell, Camara also got a piece, was a double block.I bring up the 1992 Kentucky-duke game on here sometimes. One that I’ve never mentioned is that 2001-2002 regular season game at the Jimmy V Classic.
Never forget we were leading by 1 in OT and Jay Williams drove only for Tayshaun to make him absolutely EAT IT, ALL BALL! Of course, Tayshaun was called for a foul and JW made both FTs to beat us. He scored 40 or close to 40 to beat us in OT on a phantom foul call. Lmao just another game duke won via a direct correlation with the referees. It’s truly unbelievable.
EDIT: I was mistaken. Tayshaun got that clean clock in regulation. JW hit the one FT to send it into OT. Was a HORRIFIC call!
I would like just as much to get a home blue blood whistle like we used to. Before Emmert became NCAA president opponents called it Rape Arena. Yes, Duke is better than us. Let’s not pretend that them and Kansas receive at least a 6-8 point advantage every game with the officials. You gotta beat Duke by 10 to get a 2 point win. Not only do we not receive that anymore. We get called for 3 technicals in 30 seconds. Lose a game on a phantom flop in the last 30 seconds and all the other crap calls. Today Aberdeen was bumped hard on that final drive that sealed the game. It was an obvious call with the officials standing 2 feet away. Luckily it went in but we weren’t getting that obvious call at that time. Because we are Kentucky. Duke gets that call in that situation 100 out of 100 times.Just because we'd love to be elite again and have top notch talent, doesn't make any of us Duke fans.
I would absolutely LOVE to be on Duke's level again.
As a matter of fact, it hurts a lot to even say that, but not saying doesn't make it any less true.
