If you told me 20 years ago MSU would be hiring former head coaches to be WR coach I wouldn’t believe it.
Bo Bounds was highly praising the hire this morning. Still think it is a good hire.
Remember, Montgomery is a Briles disciple. Was the OC under Briles at Stephenville high school in Texas. His wife was the Volleyball coach and probably coached Lebby's wife (the former Staley Briles, definitely coached her older sister.

What would be excellent is if State can have a winning season (that means north of .500), and a bowl win. If that happens, it very well could be an excellent hire. This also would mean that there would be other excellent hires besides the WR coach. To have a winning campaign, it takes everyone on both sides of the ball (including special teams) to be pulling in the same direction.
Wish someone would put together an compliation video of the MSU fights over the years. Multiple egg bowl skirmishes, fat Renardo and Bailey sporting wife beaters squared up in the stands, and so on..
Add in the Kentucky fan that took his belt off and beat a few msu kids in the junction.
And you would probably have thought 20 years ago if this was the case that State had become a destination job with coaches clamoring to get a chance to coach at State.
If only that was true
