Rutgers parts ways with Women's Basketball head coach Coquese Washington
Rutgers has parted ways with Women's Basketball head coach Coquese Washington during her fourth season at the helm with a __-__ record.
Had high hopes for coquese. But what this shows was how far the previous regime let this program fall. Hobbs and CVS set this program on fire.I feel a little bad for Coquese - she stepped into an almost impossible situation and briefly looked like she might have a good thing going (more competitive than expected in the B1G her first season, some nice recruiting wins after). That said: this had to happen. Let's see what Keli's got.
CW failed at Penn State as wellHad high hopes for coquese. But what this shows was how far the previous regime let this program fall. Hobbs and CVS set this program on fire.
Wasn’t as big of a failure there as she was here. She took over a similar situation at Penn State as she did here. Had many good years there including 3 B1G championships. Thats why I said I had high hopes. She inherited a similar situation there a coach that didn’t know when to hang it up.CW failed at Penn State as well
They nuked it from orbit…it was the only way to be sure (some of you will get the reference)Had high hopes for coquese. But what this shows was how far the previous regime let this program fall. Hobbs and CVS set this program on fire.
I don't feel bad at all for her. Coaches are paid to perform. She underperformed woefully, and I agree that this HAD to happen.I feel a little bad for Coquese - she stepped into an almost impossible situation and briefly looked like she might have a good thing going (more competitive than expected in the B1G her first season, some nice recruiting wins after). Exactly. She was mid at best. The only reason Pat hired her was because Stringer left at the worst possible time.CW failed at Penn State as well
She should be thankful. Lucked into the job, failed miserably, made millions, and will make another million doing nothing.View attachment 1204694
Leaving with class, I wish Quese the best and hope if she gets another HC position she finds the success that eluded her as the RU WBB HC
but left with class, also leaving with enough money to cushion the fall , but that;s the result of an incompetent ADShe should be thankful. Lucked into the job, failed miserably, made millions, and will make another million doing nothing.

The previous AD was left in a terrible timing position by the overhyped last coach who raped the University. I don’t know her as a person. I just know she she was a terrible coach at Rutgers. She’s not leaving with class. She got fired. So she put out a few sentences to keep her from losing her severance. Means nothing.but left with class, also leaving with enough money to cushion the fall , but that;s the result of an incompetent AD
She was someone that shouldn't have been hired in the first place.
I'm not sad to see her go, only sorry she was hired.
But no dislike as a person, just dislikes Quese being unsuccessful as the RU WBB HC , like her PSU tenure ended
He hired her because he was too "busy" with other projects. Easy hire, and fellow lawyer to boot.Exactly. She was mid at best. The only reason Pat hired her was because Stringer left at the worst possible time.
Sigh, life ain't fair to some of us hard working slobs. She should be thankful. Lucked into the job, failed miserably, made millions, and will make another million doing nothing.
