I feel a little bad for Coquese - she stepped into an almost impossible situation and briefly looked like she might have a good thing going (more competitive than expected in the B1G her first season, some nice recruiting wins after). That said: this had to happen. Let's see what Keli's got.

Had high hopes for coquese. But what this shows was how far the previous regime let this program fall. Hobbs and CVS set this program on fire.

CW failed at Penn State as well
Wasn’t as big of a failure there as she was here. She took over a similar situation at Penn State as she did here. Had many good years there including 3 B1G championships. Thats why I said I had high hopes. She inherited a similar situation there a coach that didn’t know when to hang it up.

I don't feel bad at all for her. Coaches are paid to perform. She underperformed woefully, and I agree that this HAD to happen.

It's a shame this program came to this!

Is Shannon LeBeauf still here? Is she thought to be a viable candidate? Thanks! Go RU!

She didn't do the job and paid the price, though Rutgers will pay to have her leave before contract was up .
I;m not sad to see her go because even though she stepped into a mess, she couldn't fix it and Rutgers needs someone able to .

She should be thankful. Lucked into the job, failed miserably, made millions, and will make another million doing nothing.
but left with class, also leaving with enough money to cushion the fall , but that;s the result of an incompetent AD
She was someone that shouldn't have been hired in the first place.
I'm not sad to see her go, only sorry she was hired.
But no dislike as a person, just dislikes Quese being unsuccessful as the RU WBB HC , like her PSU tenure ended

The previous AD was left in a terrible timing position by the overhyped last coach who raped the University. I don’t know her as a person. I just know she she was a terrible coach at Rutgers. She’s not leaving with class. She got fired. So she put out a few sentences to keep her from losing her severance. Means nothing.

I took my granddaughter to the preseason Hoop Fest for WBB and was very disappointed by the open practice. It was disorganized, most of the team spent most of the practice sitting and the scrimmage was played against young men who were deliberately holding back on defense. I thought if that was anything like their normal practice they would be ill prepared for playing against major college teams. I had hoped my granddaughter would see the amount of effort female college players put in to be good. My granddaughter definitely didn’t get to see that.

I have also gone to see Pikiel’s open practices and they were well organized and intense and the players really went at it during their scrimmage. There are obvious differences between men and women’s basketball, but the differences in the open practice by Washington went far beyond that. Given how poorly WBB played, I wonder if I really got to see how pathetic her practices really were.
