Most P5 Wins in playoff era w/o making playoff

If you think it comes down to Iowa vs say Notre Dame getting in, who you think the committee will choose?
Meh, they are going to be 12-0 or 11-1. They are a shoe in next year.
Yeah, they will definitely be in some “Teams to make CFB playoffs” parlays for me.
We were so close this year. Sucks being so close and yet so far. I think Kirk really wants to get there too, he just doesn't say it out loud. He's building for a deep run in 2027 too. Fingers crossed this is the year we get over the hump and make it in.
Maybe they can get a couple of losses (Miami & at BYU).
Breakdown of Notre Dame's schedule:
* 4 road games — North Carolina, Syracuse, BYU and Purdue
* 2 neutral-site contests against Wisconsin and Navy
* 6 home games
Granted, Purdue is not really a road game.
Notre Dame's 2026 Schedule:
- 09/06 - vs Wisconsin (Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI)
- 09/12 - Rice
- 09/19 - Michigan State
- 09/26 - at Purdue
- 10/03 - at North Carolina
- 10/10 - Stanford
- 10/17 - at BYU
- 10/31 - vs Navy (Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA)
- 11/07 - Miami (FL)
- 11/14 - Boston College
- 11/21 - SMU
- 11/28 - at Syracuse
Big Ten needs to stop scheduling them. Their schedule would become an even bigger joke. It would get close to MAC strength of schedule.
At the very least only schedule them for home games. Tell them to suck it.
