I’m giving the show a chance because of how much I loved Yellowstone. I wasn’t expecting Yellowstone 2.0. Hopefully the Rip and Beth spinoff, Dutton Ranch stays truer to the high-stakes drama of the Yellowstone series. This series is another police procedural drama on network television. Moving the Dutton world into a 'crime-of-the-week' format on CBS doesn't capture the Montana grit the original had. Even though I was never a fan of Monica's character, killing her off with a cancer battle tied to toxic levels on the Broken Rock reservation just to reset Kayce’s story is a narrative shortcut. It’s just another sudden death plot to jump start a series, right after the way John Dutton was written out at the start of Season 5B. At least with Lee Dutton’s death in the very first episode of the original series, we actually saw the story unravel and the impact it had.

It was ok. I don’t have much hope for it. Kayce’s character isn’t compelling or strong enough to lead a series imo. And I don’t miss Monica one bit. I liked having Mo and Rainwater in it and it will be interesting to see their fit and importance. I’m not a crime solver fan and this looks to be that type of deal.

I liked it okay. Not a lot on sundays at 7 so I think it’ll do fine. Especially leading into Tracker. Actually now that I think of it, it wasn’t all that different from Tracker. I think it’ll do atleast 4-5 seasons based off the Yellowstone connection alone. I’d suspect it’s moved to paramount plus after this season though.

I think the only way it doesn’t last long is if CBS cancels it in 2 years when Sheridan leaves paramount for NBC.

Oh and yea, didn’t miss Monica either. She was one of my least favorite characters on Yellowstone. Great to look at, annoying to watch.

Will wait to see character development. Sheridan isnt writing so it probably wont stick.

We really need to bring back different threads for different things.
Tv shows, “wrastlin”, all kinds of stuff that has nothing to do with UK basketball, or even athletics in general getting posted on this board.

that’s what happens when you sell out though. People make changes they have no business making. Should be a football, basketball, and general discussion thread. Figure it out and fix it.

Any show that gives me more Mo, I'm a fan of. He's like the old west version of Yoda. But I tend to agree with everything else. I liked looking at the Wet Blanket, but her character was brutal.

I like Tracker and now that there's no Yellowstone or Landman on Sunday, so it does give something to watch.

Monica was a *****.
I believe I read where native american groups weren't happy she was cast in Yellowstone because she wasn't native american. I wasn't happy because she whined about everything.

Trying to kill off Rainwater in the first episode doesn't seem like much of a plan for his character long-term. It sucks because he’s one of the characters who grew on me as he stopped being an adversary to the Dutton's. Mo is Broken Rock’s version of Rip to Rainwater and losing that dynamic would be a mistake.

I like Kayce and agree that he is not a strong enough character to carry a series as the sole lead, but he shouldn't just disappear either. It would have made more sense to just continue the main series; Sheridan always planned for John to die, but there is too much life left in the rest of these characters to just scatter them. Ideally, they should eventually merge Kayce’s life as a Marshal on a show with whatever Beth and Rip are doing in their spinoff. A crossover between this and Dutton Ranch is the best way to save the momentum they spent five seasons building. It would be a great plan for Sheridan when he takes his work over to NBC.

I watched it and thought it was decent for a first episode. Not to many shows can make me wanna sit down for. Justified was the last one that was cant miss for me. My life is extremely busy and I was glad I remembered it was on last night. Casey wont disappoint us. I laughed since a show was finally on a network channel that I was watching. TV shows suck now. Married with children, According to Jim, Drew Carey Show. Back when tv was great!!

The Madison is excellent. Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell have to be having a ball. Sheridan is on a roll, like him or not.

Dutton Ranch also coming soon.

It's getting good the last two episodes IMO. Riley Greene did a dam good in his acting debut.

The Madison is rock solid as well. Season one was sad but good.

Dutton Ranch coming soon! May 15th?

Landman shows Texas well. The roughneck work at the well looks relatively believable. Not much else. Everything the guy writes is some unbelievable fantasy.

And nothing about those Yellowstone shows is anything but lying, exploitive garbage. Also, the country doesn't look anything like that. And you really can get eaten by grizzly bears and mountain lions. All the rivers are fished out. People are violent and angry with outsiders. And it's cold. It really did snow today, April 25th, and yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that.

Justified, now there was a good show about an interesting part of the country.

He needs a Kevin Costner, Cole Hauser, and Kelly Reilly.
