Brandt Harer dominates Super 32!🔥

I've honestly never seen him wrestle. How is he on his feet? It seems like his brother is a good mat wrestler as well, but had some struggles on his feet this past year as a freshman.
I watched several of his matches and appears to be much more athletic than his brother. No disrespect. He’s going to be really good!
141 would seem to be the sweet spot here, no?
I watched a few of Brandt's Super 32 matches on Flo. Looks to be real tough on top (like his brother), solid defensively, doesn't give up legs easily, and sound fundamentally. Not super aggressive in his attack rate but looks for his spots. I think he's going to be a really good collegiate wrestler. I'm excited about his prospects.
Although he was ranked #4 at 138 by Flo going into Super 32, I wonder if decides to remain at 144 for his senior year of HS. With his frame and a college weight training program, I think he eventually goes 157 in college, maybe after a year of two at 149.

That's part of my problem in assessing Brandt's dominance. There are precious few YouTube videos. In contrast, Bassett has been visible since he was a young boy. I would like nothing more than to see Brandt win the match. If we were to look at each one's experience, Bassett has wrestled the best out there, including world-level and NCAA champions, beating some of them. Who at that level has Brandt wrestled? Bassett (150lbs) is #1 in Flo's pound-for-pound (1-12-2026) while Brandt (138lbs) is #18. All indications point to a lopsided Bassett victory. I hope it isn't a tech, as that would be an insult to injury. Let's remember what Bassett did to Ashnault. But for many, it's nice to dream.
Flo ranking are trash . Willie has Brandt #9 overall pound for pound , by far the most accurate ranking every year.If they meet Brandt will be at a size disadvantage and Bassett is practicing with college kids darn near everyday already so even if Brandt loses I don’t think it means much
If he wins, will it mean much? I suspect it would. Meanwhile, there is great anticipation for a match that might not happen. It will require Brandt to wrestle up, right? Is that the right move by the coach? Will it be a team match decision, or just to pair those two together? It's a high-risk gamble with a bubble about to burst.
Odds are Brandt school is going to get rocked so maybe he bumps up bc he wants the challenge . If he wins it’s great and gets him more hype and maybe confidence coming into college but at the end of the day it’s a high school match that won’t matter at all in the long term.
His rankings of Brandt being #18 is intermat rankings at least get that right. You already have your excuses ready if Brandt loses.
I think the thing is too many people look at the wins and state titles but gotta focus on more important things like who did they beat and the dominance, so I agree with you on that. Also, some like to look at results of who beat who from when they were 103 pounds 4 years ago and thinks that the win holds a lot of weight rather then putting more weight in the results from the then and now. Some people also put too much Weight on freestyle results.. so Knox just got TF by RBY and didn’t place whats to make of that result? I don’t put too much weight on it for folkstyle but idk what the freestyle experts think.
Basset TF Tyus, who is a Sr(for those that keep saying age this and age that), and currently ranked #3 at 149 so I mean this if Brandt does get TF by Basset it won’t mean too much imo. I do think the people that think Brandt will be the greatest RU ever got very high hopes(I hope it happens) but they gotta hold their expectations and pressure until we see more evidence.
To summarize, I do think if Brandt can keep it close or even wins the match then he will be a huge huge threat in college right away. If Brandt, gets TF/bonused I wouldn’t read into it too much as Basset ragdolls many high lvl guys. I just hope Brandt can demonstrate his top prowess and defense as it might slow down Basset’s motor.
I can't imagine Harer will win, just wondering if he can keep it close. It'll be a real test that's for sure.

if u want to be the best, you have to face the best. This will give him a good indication on where he is in regards to being an All American (I am assuming that Bo Basset could probably be an AA this year)
Bassett would definitely place at 149 and probably be in the finals against SVN, I believe he teched #2 and #3 at 149. 141 would be a dogfight he lost to # 5 Stanich in freestyle and stanich is a better folkstyle guy …bassett is going to have to go 141 next year because Henson is back at 149. I’m sure he’ll AA but that weight will be a dogfight even more next season.
I'll assume Bassett can make 141? As far as tomorrow's match, it will be interesting. I havent seen Brandt wrestle much, but even though he would be giving up some weight, I gotta think someone who is on this type of winning streak and routing his way through Super 32 should be able to put up a decent fight against Bassett (and yes, I do realize Bassett's accomplishments).
He didn't tech Joy it was 11-1. But Joy spent the whole 3rd on top and couldn't turn Bo. And the way Joy cradled up Larkin at CKLV that's impressive by Bo
Based on the circumstances of them meeting, this sounds similar to when Cranford faced Brick Memorial last year and Chapman bumped up to face Ludington, though Cranford had more of a chance to win the Brandt’s school does.

Bo has been at 150 most of the year but has been at 144 as well. Harer will be 144 and has been
BM hammered Montgomery last night. Interestingly, Harer didnt even wrestle. Montgomery ended up forfeiting 45, 52 and two other weight classes in the state quarterfinals!
It’s terrible how forfeiting has become prevalent at the high school level. Eleazar Deluca and RFH forfeited FIVE bouts to CBA earlier this year and then got very testy with local wrestling media when they asked why he did it.
St. John vianney has done that a few times this year, I believe Bergen catholic went down to st.john on a weeknight and they sat every single good wrestler they had
