@ridingwithpope look! We’re ranked #22 in this poll. Where those haters at! lol.

Aike I’m not liking seeing UT at 9, just don’t see how it’s possibly they’re that high. Maybe 14-21 or something.

Maybe a bit of bias since we beat them twice? They’ve had a good season and they’re dangerous with Ament. This would have them losing in the Sweet 16, which feels about right to me.

Ament tweaked his hip last night. Not sure of severity but he sat to close the game.

Maybe. I didn’t fully realize that had them losing in the sweet 16, that’s definitely around what it seems. I could see them clipped in the second round too. Don’t see an elite 8 for this UT team. I’d be a little surprised unless the road just opens.

Barns has done well at UT, definitely the greatest coach in their history. Sucks too, because he’s a little too good for UT, and he got stuck there during to the contract. He tried to go to UCLA but they locked him down. Barnes was stupid he could have had better options in the deal. UT was desperate to land a coach like that. Obviously not a top 2 tier coach but he’s the first guy on that next 3rd tier.

If they offered that right now I think I would take it. I do think there’s a very outside path to a 5 seed depending on how these next two weeks go. Or we could drop down to an 8/9. Lots of options and I’m interested to see how they respond.

The big physicality of Houston and Michigan I don’t like it but you gotta be ready for any team we all know how that goes

After that injury, committee will try and pull something to her Duke and Michigan on the same side at least. If not closer than that lol.

This.

If you put Ament on UK's roster instead of JQ and Williams, we'd be a top 10 team in the nation. He's a dangerous player.
Pope or the JMI deal couldn’t get that done. Pope is just an unknown to players and hasn’t coached anyone that signals pros should play for him. He’s just not getting those guys unless he throws a ton of money out there

Agreed. Reminds me of the Tubby area. UK would be named as is the mix for top talent, but it rarely panned out.

Afraid Michigan and Houston with bigs would be like what Gonzaga and Michigan State did to us
They would definitely have the edge, but what other 2 and 1 seed would you like to play? They all have really good bigs. Look.. this teams ceiling is a sweet 16. Maybe an elite 8. As a 6, I would like to play Nebraska at the 3 and I think the weakest 3. That gets you to the S16. Houston can struggle shooting the ball at times. Would it be difficult to beat them? Heck yes!!! But there are no other 2s I would rather play.

I would take that all day to the sweet 16 and then who knows
Yep. The thing about the Sweet Sixteen is, not only did you make the Sweet Sixteen which would be a sweet prize after this infection of a year, but you never know who's going to be there. First weekend if you get paired against a powerhouse you're gonna find yourself toe to toe with that powerhouse. By the Sweet Sixteen that team in your path may not even be there anymore unless it's a generational team. You could be facing a Cinderella who killed themselves knocking off Goliath and is trying to recover from that.

That bracket keeps us out of anything significant. UM and UH would eat our lunch twice.
UH is not what you’re making them out to be, imo, and we aren’t likely to beat any of the 1 seeds.
