The Hawkeyes (23-5, 14-3) travel to Madtown to take on the Badgers (13-15, 5-12).

Wisconsin has lost EIGHT straight games, although they did beat Nebraska and Oregon at home back in January.

Iowa should win, but they have struggled to bury teams in the road.

I’m seeing 73-60 hawks.

Or just play really a really ineffective zone defense.
Or just play really a really ineffective zone defense.
I think both are probably side effects of being not quite as athletic as many teams we face on the perimeter. Still we give effort. The Michigan game is a good example of that. I guess we were just fortunate Illinois didn't make their last 11 threes in a row....

These are teams that could nt hit 78% in practice and unguarded.
I agree. Illini’s arc shooting was clearly a near maximal aberration. You don’t make major adjustments to counteract unusual extreme deviations.

I think that might be the reason why Jan goes to a zone on occasion, but they're just not well schooled at it. They primarily play man to man and can play it well, but their zone is abysmal. It was against Illinos anyway.

The Illinois 3s that were open were really wide open, but a lot of them were well contested shots that just somehow went in.
I thought that Minnesota hit a lot more contested shots than Illinois had to.

It's a curse.

This was roughly halfway thru the 2nd half of yesterday's Iowa men at Penn State game.

78% from 3.

I know. I was marvelling at it as the PSU game went along. How is it that the other teams have these impossible shooting performances against the Hawkeyes, against teams known for good defense? And how long has it been since Iowa--men or women--had one game where everything they threw up there went in?

This is a smart move. Iowa doesn't play again for almost a week. Hannah is much better off relaxing on the bench today and rehabbing for the postseason. She'll be ready by Friday's BIG Tourney opener. That'll be just fine.

Ahead of LSU. That will grind some gears.

OSU on a 3pt. heater today. MSU's defense had a lot to do with it, but would think that would have been a closer game.

I don't like these games without Stuelke when Heiden and her have been building that inside game chemistry. Pretty unfortunate.

Hope Journey is ready to go. Ready for her turn to score a double-double.
Teagan? Today's the day.
