I agree it wouldn’t work, but based on rankings — he’s a low 3-star IOL in football with mainly FCS offers, but a top 5/7 HWT in wrestling — he’s a much better wrestling recruit. He will HAVE to pick a sport, and if it’s wrestling, well it’s a top guy at a top high school at a weight class of need.Is he a two-sport guy? That won't work. He said wrestling and football, not wrestling or football.
If he’s not getting a big check for football or top school it’s a no brainer to go down the wrestling road.I agree it wouldn’t work, but based on rankings — he’s a low 3-star IOL in football with mainly FCS offers, but a top 5/7 HWT in wrestling — he’s a much better wrestling recruit. Zalota is a much better wrestler. Alvarez has the size advantage.I wouldn’t risk losing Zalota for a kid that may wanna play football more than wrestle.
I agree. I think Zalota has a lot more upside than Alvarez. If he can put about 20 to 30lbs of muscle on his frame, he will be a force in college.Zalota is a much better wrestler. Alvarez has the size advantage.
Josh Hokit - Fresno StateCan anyone name anyone that wrestled and did football in college that had success in both??
NoDid Neal play any football in college?
St Joes isn’t really a prep school and one his teammates is already committed here and he was committed to Delaware for football so I doubt he looka down at RutgersI wouldn't waste my time with this kid. He's gonna be like every other prep school athlete and snub his nose at us.
Cristian lives in my town, great kid, great family, we’d be lucky to have him.St Joes isn’t really a prep school and one his teammates is already committed here and he was committed to Delaware for football so I doubt he looka down at Rutgers
See above. St. Joe's is a catholic high school. And not all are snubbing as Rutgers has gotten it's foot in the door to Delbarton and Bishop McCourt Catholic powerhouses as of late, with a good handful of other Catholic school wrestlers already on the roster. Prep schools? Zalota is a commit from a true prep school by the way and sits atop his weight class for his year.I wouldn't waste my time with this kid. He's gonna be like every other prep school athlete and snub his nose at us.
