Body language wasn't good from the get-go

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't like the body language from the Hawkeyes from the beginning. Koch was on fire, or Iowa would have been down 10 or so at the half. Iowa didn't seem to have any life, any energy, and that's been the case way too often this season, and that's the ONE thing I never thought a McCollom team would be guilty of. Ben's mantra is to impose your will. I don't think most of his players understand what that means or, if they do, they don't seem very invested. I see more fired up play in pick-up games at the rec center. It's weird. Or like I said, it could just be me.

This was our third game in a week, while Ped State had a week to rest. Dolph mentioned on the radio call that the guys' legs seemed tired. Even still, we should've beat those clowns through our fundamentals alone. Coach summed it up nicely in his post game presser: “That’s where we’re at right now: A middle tier team that’s not beating the teams that we’re supposed to beat. But then we’ll gear up for big games."

they kind of did that last year at Drake but were able to win some of the close games against inferior competition.

The last regular season game Drake played was in Des Moines against the second to last place team in the MVC and it took overtime for Drake to win. Then Drake reeled off a conference tournament championship and a first round ncaa win.

No offense, but that's about as far from an apples-to-apples comparison as can be.

The MVC vs the B1G??

Totally different animals and overall talent levels.

Mostly same players, same coaches. MVC they could still win on those “nights off” … clearly that is not the case in the BIG.. because talent level is clearly a much higher level top to bottom.

That’s your job coach, we went from a 2 bye team to a 1 bye team cause they weren’t focused why did we even go there. You better hone up your talk to your team, you and you alone are to blame here. You better recruit your *** off cause so far your results are pitiful. One recruit you got Ethan Harris is legit the other kid redshirted cause he wasn’t good enough to play this year. Recruit guards athletic guards. But you’ve failed big time. Looking like maybe your niche was at div Il not with the big boys. Prove me wrong!

Been a recurring theme throughout the season, especially on the road.

Just tired of the mediocrity. When does any Iowa men’s team tip the scale? This one leaves a bad taste. Might have to dial it back a bit to Fran era engagement until proven otherwise.

Don't worry about facts. The kid was young, got no summer work and was hurt early. He redshirted because it was the best thing for him and the team. Internet tough guy telling a 4 time NC coach to recruit athletic guards and that he has failed, WOW

Is an NCAA team mediocre? Seems far too early to label the program at all.

I don't value a big ten tourney title as much as a regular season title. But it was 2022. And it has to tip the scales.

Division title for 2023 football definitely tips the scales. Same with '21 and '15. Those trophies aren't going anywhere.

As a football program over time, most successful non-blue blood in the last decade tips the scales.

Mediocrity?

Only one level of engagement is needed from Hawk fans. All-in. There's a reason for the saying, "they're either with us, or against us"
