This is called early season baseball for Le Moyne when you have a pitcher with an ERA of 38.57. It also happens when your school is still very new to D1 level of baseball

Subs for UNC: Matthew Mathijs enters. Tyler Howe at first, Lee Sowers at second and Gavin moves over to short

Pure 12-6 curveball from that over the top slot...ouch is that hard to hit...when it is properly placed in the zone, hung in there is no beuno

And a hung curveball ends up as a homer for Wegryzn, 349, 102 off the bat. 12-2. When a curveball is hung in the zone, it is easy to hit

I'd expect Carolina to toy with a team like LeMoyne and that's how it's gone so far. Get the sweep tomorrow and take care of business against Elon. Then the season starts for real next weekend.

You can make a lot of money playing baseball if you can do that consistently…😂 in response to if Vance being 3-3 with 3HRs….
I’m aware 😂 was trying to make a sarcastic joke, I would hope most people on this board would know that him doing that is insane in 3 ABs

Our RPI is going to be fine come on
Not sure what you mean by “fine”. I’m saying playing a series against one of the worst teams in D1 (even if we sweep it) could impact our RPI on the margins when it comes down to the hosting or national seed conversation.

Obviously we have a very challenging ACC schedule ahead. But we don’t usually play a weekend series against a team quite as bad as these guys, IMO.

If we’re in a position where RPI is factoring in in a meaningful way to postseason consideration then we’ll have had bigger problems than le moyne. Top 3 ACC teams will be nations seeds. Just gotta win in the conference.

RPI is a major factor in postseason seeding in college baseball.

All I’m saying is, no matter how great we do from here on out, this LeMoyne series will be a minor drag on our RPI compared to what it would’ve have otherwise been…..unless LeMoyne does better from here on out than I expect them to.

Current projections have Carolina’s RPI at #2 to end the season with a 12-13 loss record.

given how stout the ACC is, it’ll handle itself if Carolina handles its business.

and early season RPIs are weird anyway. For instance, Longwood is Carolina’s only quad one win at the moment. ECU quad 4.

RPI aside, there's just not much benefit in playing a weekend series against this team imo
Getting multiple guys live game action when otherwise that might not happen.......Carolina's played everyone on the roster that's healthy enough to play the past two days. That's big for a variety of reasons. Forbes said as much in the postgames.

Le Moyne is decent in the field, poor on the mound. Not a very good team. But getting live reps beyond scrimmages and technology and a deal, a big one I think.

Think back to the Mercer football game - I believe it was them - where some guys named Jacolby Criswell and Drake Maye got their first meaningful reps at QB for the Heels....was that live action against a bad team worth it?

That's how I view it......

Might end up being an RPI killer if they end up being as bad as I think they are.
We have run ruled them both games in 7 innings?

Don't think it is possible for our RPI to go down after that. And don't think our we should be worrying about our RPI considering the rest of our weekend series are Indiana, ECU, then entire ACC slate + coastal as a midweek
