Hit the weight room hard. I have never seen anyone so soft with the ball once he has the rebound. That has to improve dramatically.
And keep a basketball or better yet a tennis ball with you at all times to work on hand eye coordination. Hit the leaper or whatever machine they have to gain some vertical. He’s got a ton of potential being 7foot and could really improve with some hard work.

I think the number 1. offseason assignment is getting him and cc back
Yup, CC/Kam/Moreno/Maybe Lowe/Maybe Mo D or Jelly for depth. Those are the five I’d like to see back. Potter and Hawthorne if we get them cheap. I’d love to see Hawthorne play first. I’d prefer to go a different direction than Lowe but if he was okay with being a secondary guard if we could get a portal stud then ok. Healthy JQ would be nice, but I couldn’t tolerate another season of paying him not to play if he needs another surgery. He probably goes pro anyway.

Having the bulk of these guys return and add another critical couple pieces, it could be doable for Pope to actually prove his way to a Final Four, but a LOT has to go right to get there first.

Love Moreno's development as well as Chandler's.

Chandler and Morneo will have the keys in thier hands next year

Thought he played very well today. Agree he needs to get stronger but he was impressive today.
I thought he played well today and backed down on their big quite a bit. I would say work on his conditioning. He seems to get winded quickly even with Pope's sub pattern.

Agree on getting stronger but even if he does he has to be stronger with the ball. Sounds like a play on words but I don’t mean it to be. He has to change his mentality about protecting the basketball. Tashawn Prince wasn’t “strong” but he didn’t have the ball taken away from him.

Haven’t seen this mentioned. His footwork needs to improve for his draft stock to improve.

F2M, all I can speak to regarding Hawthorne is watching him shoot in warmups, but he really shoots it well there. I've been very surprised with how smooth and consistent his shot is in warmups. Now that's not game speed, etc., but today he looked like one of the 2-3 best shooters - noticeably better than Noah today anyway and Jelavic too. And he looks to be 6'10". Again, of course, we haven't seen him play in college so who knows. But he passes the eye test for shooting from the perimeter for me.

I don't know, maybe I've got blue tinted glasses, but I think Malachi is a tremendous talent for a freshman big. I would love to see him develop at Kentucky for 2-3 seasons.
I don't think you're looking at it biased at all. If anything we tend to be overly harsh on our own. Moreno has been really good - the best freshman Center I recall seeing this season. His game has always reminded me of a budding Tim Duncan in college. He's going to be more of a throwback, but still mobile, Center. I wish they would break his shot and rebuild it this offseason - I really don't think it would be nearly as difficult to do as that usually is - but even without that I believe he's going to be a top notch college Center. He has the body to easily add weight and more muscle too.

Has at least a few plays a game where he has the rebound and just gets it taken away. Gotta be stronger than that.

Absolutely. Strength is his problem right now. Reminds me of Richards, albeit slightly better as a freshman.
