Only about the 5th time they were struck preemptively.

They threaten the US but don’t have the ability to reach the US with missiles. Right

you think Iran has missiles that can reach the US borders? I'd love to hear your intel behind this...

And this is a larger mission than previous ones

What news outlet would you guys suggest are more "unbiased". Would like to watch this play out without any political "BS" in the reporting.

Thanks

good luck finding that but I do have on Fox which I rarely do and it has not really gone into anything politically motivated "yet"

It's been mainly talking to people in Iran and some military people discussing what's going on. But every news outlet is going to have some bias. It's just the reality of the world we live in today

I said they don’t have them; that’s what our gov says. So what’s the threat exactly?

If the IR is gone, it’s going to swing from them being the “problem” to the Sunni Arabs who now have less reason to integrate with us and Israel. No more enemy of my enemy.

Yeah I just watched NBC's interview with the Iranian Prime Minister. That went about as one would think.

"US bad, Iran good"

my bad as @UrHuckleberry said my reading comprehension sucked on that...I took the "right" incorrectly. I think the biggest threat, as has been mentioned, would be a cyber threat. It will be interesting to watch. They definitely have capability to attack the US in other areas outside our borders and attack US ships. Both military and shipping canals.

Attacking our ability to get gas could be huge. Which is another reason I'll never understand why we don't utilize our abilities and resources to be more self sufficient in this area.

That was propaganda 101. I am a little surprised NBC gave him that platform and for that long. Maybe reverse psychology but thought it was interesting.

That is just a thought and not trying to go down any NBC vs Fox BS.

In fact, let’s keep up the mostly non political discussion in this and stick to the facts (which is hard on so many levels).

Bottom line: this is fascinating and monumental.

It will be fun revisiting this in a decade and wondering why the Middle East is still a chaotic mess. Just trading one problem for others.

Oh well, blessed to live here where life goes on.
Fair point, even if backhanded. History has properly judged the Iraq debacle for what it was. I am hopeful, if perhaps naively optimistic it will turn out better this time.

To be clear, I was against this action.... but now that it's on, I'm all the daggum way in. Burn their _ss to the ground.

So you want boots on the ground in Iran? You can’t do regime change through air power alone

I think the Iranian people are ready for a regime change. Many think the Crown Prince has the support of the Iranian people both on the left and the right side of the fence. I think they are ready to see him have a chance to run the country.

Like you, did not want it to get to this but here we are and now let's make sure we get this sh-t done!

Brother us bombing Iran is not going to result in the Shah coming back to power. If you think that then I have some oceanfront property in Omaha to sell you

Right but I don’t think he was saying that. I think he is saying that since we are here, the let’s finish the job.

And I do agree that I think the Iranian people are ready for change. What that change brings is the million dollar question.

Both of yall have fair and valid concerns/points.

I am just telling you what the Iranian people have been saying. Please tell me where I said it "would happen"...I said that is the hope of the Iranian people

There are people with a lot higher level classification and clearance than the both of us that know what the strategy is moving forward. But if you watch interviews, that would be the goal of their people. Most Iranians do not hate Americans.

Iran hasn’t done any of that first in the past 10 years though. We attack them “preemptively,” and they respond. If we’re attacking someone because they might present a serious threat down the line, we should be at war with the entire world. Maybe England decides it wants the colonies back in 50 years

They agreed to a nuke deal with us; we tore it up. We pretend to negotiate with them; we bomb them anyway. The ballistic missile program is the only real deterrent they have. And it’s not a threat to the US proper.

The US having control of its energy needs is great. The IR being gone doesn’t necessarily help that cause. The Sunni Arab states will gain a lot more leverage. It just fees like we’re going to the pre 79 era as if it were some paradise over there, and it wasn’t.

Do you honestly believe that terms like "mongoloid" and "negroid" are useful classifications for people?
Wtf, dude. No. Of course not. Are you stalking me? My whole point in that prior discussion months ago was the absurdity of race-based distinctions. Racism is in its death throes and ppl like you are stopping at nothing to keep it alive.

Nevertheless, please try to stay on point.

There won’t be a change through an air campaign

Dubai has been hit. This picture was just ten minutes ago. I live in Abu Dhabi, but was out of town for the weekend. Hunkering down on the Palm with friends you can here explosions off and on. This picture is from the east outer rim of the Palm looking toward the trunk. There is a large power plant in the direction of the explosion. ****.

I wonder if they’ll hit the Saudi refinery or try to. I also wonder what F1 will do about the two gulf state races in April (those will go ahead, who am I kidding)

As long as Islamic fundamentalist have power the chaos will continue. If leadership in these countries were like it is in Jordan and even Saudi, that chaos would calm down.

That being said Saudi and Pakistan are also tired of Iran’s Shiite. Pakistan letting us use their airstrips for drone reconnaissance and Saudi allowing Air Space usage. IRGC has no friends anymore.

Well it’s par for the course with Israel, few things they like doing more than killing children and blowing up schools and hospitals. A truly godless nation and society

I don’t have all the intel, and what is true or not true from both sides, so I won’t pretend like I do. But I’m just exhausted at getting involved in these wars and creating the next wave of people who hate us (whether “justified” or not). IMG_2320.jpeg

You know how many Shiites the Saudis have executed for no other reason than them being Shiite? Or for making the wrong tweet. They’re butchers themselves. For what little it’s worth, an Iranian woman has it better than a Saudi woman. The Wahhabi fundamentalists in Saudi Arabia gave us 9/11. When are we going to retaliate against them?

The dictatorships over there can’t sustain political legitimacy being in Israel’s back pocket without the Iranian threat. The people over there haven’t changed

Ok...that's more like it. Thank you.

I too am worried you might be at least partially correct.
Yeah some people are saying our goal is regime change but then the administration apparently has off ramps built in to their “plan”? Makes no sense to me. I think the guys at CENTCOM think this is their chance to do what they’ve wanted to do for ages ago
