It’s localized to the neighborhoods around it but it is an issue. I have a buddy from high school that has family that lives not far from it and he said the hum is real.

There’s some not in my backyard mentality to this but honestly it’s really poor planning to put something like that near so many houses.
Has anyone defined "temporary"? I didn't see that anywhere.

No one died from Three Mile Island. The US navy has been fueling ships with it for 60 plus years. No accidents. The USS Gerald Ford can stay at sea for ten years without refueling. The US army is going nuclear. It is safe and we are stupid not to build more. You want clean energy Nuke is the way to go.

Army Goes Nuclear: Microreactors Set for US Bases By 2028 | Neutron Bytes
I know a guy who is investing fairly heavily in companies that are close to making small micro nuclear reactors. They are specifically targeted for high draw industrial applications or even powering small towns. He talks like it’s going to be the next AI stock market darling. I’m not convinced. I could see the government tying it all up in regulation to the point it’s no longer feasible. I do agree that it’s a good idea and something that we as a nation should be pursuing.

From what I've read, the biggest problem with the temp turbines is they are sitting in the open. They haven't built sound barriers yet using earth embankments. The real turbines should be enclosed like any normal power plant when finished.

Issue is way overblown. It's easily stored on site. We've been doing it for 60 years with no problems. And there's just not much of it. A nuclear plant produces about 20 tons of waste per year. Compare to a coal plant that produces about 300 tons of waste per year.
What do you guys do about the gamma radiation?

It's less of an issue than the pollution from coal plants. Easily contained and has been for over 60 years with no issues at all. Compared to coal plants that kill 20,000 people per year.

Speaking of. Just saw someone bitching on Facebook about construction off Malone north of Goodman in OB. She talked to someone on site that said it was another AI facility.

It’s great if it’s not in your bac

I’d a lot rather they put a nuclear plant in my town than a coal plant. Much safer a less unhealthy.
Then you should be good because their aren’t many new coal plants on the drawing board.

Hold up biatches, I created this using AI today and will complete this beauty tomorrow when my image limit is up. 17 those losers in South Haven that have to suffer for this.

I had heard that Musk bought that existing power plant in Southaven. If true, that plant has been there for years. Why complain just now? Because it's now Elon Musk's power plant?

As an environmental investigator for the State, noise from our end can not be regulated; so, it’s up to local/county ordinances to enforce. But I get it, no one wants to deal with that.
