For you scotch drinkers, toss out some stuff you like. I've got a couple but moving on trying new ones.

I'm mainly an Islay and Highland/Islands drinker. My favorites are Caol Ila and Bunnahabain, a bit lighter smoke than some of the usual Islay smoke bombs. I also like Highland Park from Orkney. We stayed at the Kirkwall Hotel once, home to the Highland Park Bar. It had over 200 Highland Park versions available. The most expensive was around 2000 Pounds Stirling, for a DRAM. I wanted to, but I would have been buried there by my wife had I done it. Scapa...it comes from Orkney but it's more like a Speyside, no smoke. Not my usual but It's really good. Tobermory does good stuff.

Interesting, that’s a Speyside, usually little to no smoke in those. You sure it’s not the oak? That’s a similar yet different taste.

It's oak but it's a charred wood flavor, been open awhile. Reminds me of tequila almost if I put ice with it.

Ahh, that’s a different thing for scotch. Usually smoke there is peat smoke, not charred wood. Different taste. I’d try yours if I ever came across it. Something different.

It's not really a heavy peated, I found it odd honestly. Not bad, but odd.

Compass Box Spice Tree -- A phenomenal blend of highland whiskies aged in French Oak and a couple of Speysides aged in bourbon barrels. I'm a big fan of Compass Box in general and this one's my favorite.

Glengoyne 12 -- An unpeated Highland with butterscotch for days. It's a great one when you want to get away from the heavily sherried or smokey or barrel influenced stuff and just enjoy a well done, straightforward single malt.

Clynelish 14 - Probably my favorite single malt right now. It's a Highland whisky with a little bit of everything going on. Fruit, sweetness, and salt, finished with maybe a touch of light smoke. It just hits all the exact right notes and somehow manages to be really potent without being rough at all. It's damn good stuff.

Laphroaig. 18 year is my go to but the younger stuff is good too. Very peety, but very tasty. Tastes like a bandaid in a tennis ball jar that got run over by a new tire on fresh asphalt. Yummy!
Good stuff.

Not a huge scotch drinker, but I keep a bottle of Balvenie Doublewood around for when I get the urge.

I haven't been a Scotch drinker in years. Just prefer bourbon. But I liked Glenmorangie in the days when I did drink it. Especially their stuff they age in the barrels of various sherries and other sweeter stuff.

I remember trying scotch in high school and thinking I will never like this ****. Ahhh the ignorance of youth.

If you want to drink a blend the best is Monkey Shoulder. If you want a good mild scotch I recommend Glenfiddich from the Speyside region. I like Ardbeg 10 from Islay. Macallan is good but not my favorite. I keep coming back to Glenfiddich. Craigellachie is great but we can't get it in Mississippi.
