Colton Sands won the ACC Title in the 5K, dropping a meet record and beating UVA's champ Gary Martin in the process. This bodes well for the NCAA's, though he may focus on the 3K there.

Looks like Flash Results has added a feature that shows the team scores if every event the rest of the way went by each athlete's SB.

Working off of those, right now the women are projected for a 7th place 44 point finish.

The men a 47.5 point 7th place finish.

Paige qualifies for the 800M Finals, DMR had a good run going but Sjoberg didn't have enough in the tank at the end and finished 9th.

Sands picked up 4 points with a 5th place 5k finish.

That DMR looked promising but Sjoberg is not known for her kick in shorter races. Funny race in that is almost always comes down to who has strong runners in the last leg; the other three barely matter.

It depends. If the first leg gets a big enough lead then it will not matter who runs the last leg. In the last Olympics my statement came true. We had one of our strongest runners to run the first leg. She got a big lead and the other teams could not make up the distance because the gap was to big. We won by a land slide.

Tough day for runs, no one ever seemed like they had the juice. Paige 7th, Sjoberg 6th, Sands 10th.

We lost a lot last year. Fatima was a big loss along with some of the field event ladies. If coach can continue to recruit at a high level from the high school ranks plus add on some top tier talent from the portal I think this program will be fine. I just wished that Sjoberg could have been on the team with Fatima and Brynn. We would have had three top 10 runners on the team. Hopefully our freshman and sophomores can get stronger and better during the off season. We need them to make a huge jump like Sands did. By the way, who do we have coming in from high school that is suppose to be really good for both the men's and women's teams in cross country, etc?
