there is no way they fire a coach after 2 years, one of which they go to a sweet 16. pope isnt a drunk like BCG.
That sounds great and all but Bcg came in with somewhat of a resume. Pope had nada in there than coaching Mormon schools the one he just left going off winning tourney games and landing top recruits. Something pope chalked up to school rules being his inhibitor of recruiting. His resume looks negative now. Pope was brought in on a Barney prayer. There are no givens for a guy who has all of zero recruits for next year. One thing with the instant teams you can make it also lends itself to a quicker trigger in coaches to keep up. It’s not like mark is building a program at UK. Those redshirts may never be good enough to compete lat at YK especially based on popes talent assessment. It’s awful. His coaching is awful and inconsistent. That isn’t going to change. He’s a Matt Daugherty and we have no Roy Williams waiting in the wings. The fans like this guy which are many have been brainwashed by Barney. “3 years at least” football “5 years at least”. That’s the mentality that goon brought in. He hates our fanbase. He doesn’t know how to deal with a behemoth like our bb program. The guy calls us microwave fans because we reject his trash. What happened to the “we win a title on avg every ten years”?? That went away when it became the 11th year since a ff. These are reasons pope won’t be back. Uk isn’t where you go to learn to coach, it isn’t where you go with a guaranteed contract. The seat is hot from day 1. Barney tried to pull a Matt daughtery on us but BBN called him out then BBN was brainwashed because Barney went with the emotional hire. Remember how it was after the hire? Well we are back there and I don’t see pope surviving it. As a matter of fact pope knows UK fans flew off the handle when he was as hired. He knows what’s coming at him. Our brains have overridden Barney’s garbage attempt to play the emotion game. My guy says pope bows on his own. There are a lot of former cats with bigger resumes than pope who would like a crack at UK. There are a ton of former players in general who would like a crack. That pressure alone will probably cause pope to resign. Give them all a chance. You gonna do that barndouche?

I'm not saying harrass, threaten, hurt or intimidate. You can make people's lives miserable by doing nothing nefarious or wrong.
Pope, his wife and his daughters don't deserve anything remotely close to what you are suggesting.
You act like Pope is purposely sabotaging our program, when in fact, he is probably hurting more than all of us right now.
Even suggesting this kind of garbage should get you banned

Lmao, who said anything about harassing women?

If that's where your mind went with my comment, that says more about you than me.
Well then explain what it is you're thinking when you say "make their lives miserable". How are you suggesting that happen? I'm curious.

Yep and it will be a miserable experience just like Stoops was this year.
And like Joker's last year. UK is the only major school that will go into a year with a coach they know will fail and they'll fire at the end of the year. All our competitors would try to not have that failing season.

Okay 1 guy. Once. Yes its terrible for anyone to say that. Has it been a consistent thing? Does one guy's trash take define the board's views on this? No.
As I thought, you call me a troll because you said I made it up, then when I repost it, you aren't man enough to apologize and admit your mistake. Coward

I am man enough to admit when I am wrong. But it was one guy. It wasn't the boards sentiment though. Unlike most, you did provide proof and I commend you on that.

So far Mark Pope's teams have been on par or better than the last few years teams that Cal had here. In year 1 he started with 1 recruit that stuck around and built a roster from scratch. Had injuries to key players and went further in the NCAA tournament than the Cats have been since 2017. Year two the injury bug continues. So far, the team is on the same level as those last few years of coach Cal. I would like to see what a Coach Pope team would look like if they stayed fairly healthy throughout the season. If healthy this team would easily have 4 or 5 more wins and be sitting 22-6 at worst and we would be talking possible elite 8 final four team playing one of the toughest schedules in the NCAA. I had high hopes for this team going into the season and especially when they beat Purdue in the scrimmage. I cannot say I am not disappointed how it has played out but some of the bad luck is not on Coach Pope.

Where I think he needs to improve as a Coach is in two years most of the time when teams get really physical with his teams, they play more timid than normal. I want to see his teams consistently fight, rebound, and dive after loss balls. I saw a few games where I did not see the same fight in this team. If the team that shows up vs Tennessee, Arkansas, St Johns, Oklahoma would show up every game. Then win or lose I would feel better about the team.

This team is pitiful given our standards and $$$. And we were so even before injuries kicked in (recall the ugly home loss to a miserable Georgetown team).

The only debate is whether Pope’s poor judgment in roster construction or his inability to recruit is worse.

Year 2, with more time and $ to build a roster, but with poorer results = a really bad sign moving forward.

Bruce Pearl was right there man
Some fans laugh, but they are also the ones crying for Pope to get another chance…

Translation: They are morons when it comes to sports!

Pearl would absolutely kill it at UK for the next 5-8 years, but if it were my call, I’m throwing the entire kitchen at Todd Golden!

With Mitch, neither has a snowball’s chance in **** of happening 😂

There’s no guarantee Bruce Pearl would “kill it here”, and just my personal opinion, but I don’t want Todd Golden here. He’s a little turd.

Some of the issues with boosters currently have nothing to do with wins and losses right now. It’s extremely limited access they have been given to the program in such ways that have been there in the past. Mark needs to be more outgoing and play nice. It’s having an effect a little bit right now.

You Pope slurpers are a joke.

Guess you slept thru 2018 and 2019 ncaa tournaments when UK made the sweet 16 and went to OT in the elite 8 respectively. And 2020 when we won the sec by 3 games.

And big effing deal if Pope is better than the last 4 years of Cal. That's like being the smartest kid with down syndrome.

Wake me up when he makes 4 final fours n 5 years or hell, even wins something that matters like the sec tourney or regular season.
