Much like college football, interest in college basketball is on the rise…

I truly deep down wish I could be excited about that....I mean I really do.

One of my favorite sporting events has always been the ncaa basketball tournament but I'm finding myself way out of the loop this year.....maybe it's because we suck so bad and I've moved on with my fair weather arse. Maybe it's because I don't really get into sports gambling or maybe it's because I'm just not that interested anymore.....that's what I'm afraid it might be and it sucks.

The TV and the simple 'entertainment' or 'something to do' side of it is on the rise. But the passionate fandom that we all grew up with? That's dying. I remember letting MSU games either make or ruin a few days of my life back in the old days. That is long gone. No longer do I think I'm better than an Auburn fan or whatever for the next year if we beat them in football. I mean pretty much the whole year was built around how you could win and if not, build for the next team, in order to get a program with staying power just so we could be proud. That's been totally demolished. I'm honestly not sure why people are still subscribed to pay sites.

Probably a good thing overall.

The teams with the largest fan bases are winning. That is all it takes!

meanwhile we have chosen not to participate
Chose? I doubt it. Choosing is far different than being in reality. Mississippi State is a have not school playing the land of HAVE's. They give us enough crumbs to field a team but we don't have enough support from fans or boosters to really compete. When we do win, it's sweeter than hell.
