Clearly, the refs blew the call. If I was a Hoosier fan, I would be mad.

If they had whistled, I wonder if (after the inevitable replay review) they would have called it a shooting or common foul. DeVries clutched on contact, pulled the ball down and then shot. Thinking back to the call on Barnhizer against Butler a few years ago, I think there is a non-zero chance it could have resulted in a 1 and 1.

Secondly, if they did award three FTs the Cats have a 2/3 win probability. DeVries is very good at the line (86%), but that still means he has about a one in three chance of missing at least one. Assuming OT is 50/50, Cats win 2 of 3 times in that scenario.

i really enjoyed watching last night and am impressed at how much better the team is playing at the defensive end. Beating Indiana, even with a partial assist from the refs, is always great.

I'm not sure that's a foul in the NBA. I think he got ball first and then hit the wrist on the follow-through.

Not in the first half (except for last few minutes. But second half was a whole lot better defensively

Do we know he wasn’t told to hack? A lot of teams up three inside ten seconds will foul to send them to the line rather than risk the potential tie. Did CCC address it in the presser?

That definitely was not intentional. If you want to foul up 3, you do it well before the opponent is going up for the shot. I think it’s just one of those times when Gelo’s competitive instincts and desire to challenge the shot overrode his brain. I’m guessing Collins told them to smartly contest but do NOT foul.
