Tonight might be the night the fugazi sellout streak ends.

There will have to be some serious shenanigans by Rutgers to announce tonight as a sellout.

Lots of seats in the 300 level are available in addition to GA tickets in the student section.

Today is the first time in forever buyers on ScarletKnights.com could purchase seats on day of game without being directed to SeatGeek (and previously StubHub).

Will it end at 92? The drama is building.

Is it too late to get One-Piece involved?

Seriously, this sellout streak is obviously manufactured. If tonight is the night they finally raise the white flag, it's probably for the best. Our attendance is very good relative to the product on the court. We have great fans but it's a bad look to lie about attendance.

Completely agree, let the streak die. Attendance has actually been fantastic during the season even against the OOC teams probably 3/4’s full. The student section on the other hand not so great.

the student attendance has really been pared down if anyone is paying attention to the makeup in those sections. Once the best student section in the Big 10 its basically 6 rows of hardcores
Very sad. About 38,000 undergrads on the 5 NB-Pisc campuses and only a few hundred care enough to go. Current seniors were juniors in high school when the Houston game was gagged away.

Sad but true. Losing has a dramatic effect and it does not take long!

To get more students to men's basketball games, Rutgers should run buses directly between College Ave to Jersey Mike's. That would be obvious common sense for a change.

On the attendance question, Rutgers athletics has a dilemma. The seating capacity for fans is 7,848. Let's say all those seats are full.

Then add the players, coaches, and student managers. That adds about 60. Then add the cheerleaders and dance team. Another 40.

The scorers table and press boxes have about 50. That gets to 7,998.

Add the security and concessions staff, the referees, the custodians.

Jersey Mike's is above the 8,000 limit allowed by the fire official.

So Rutgers just reports 8,000 every game. For a full arena, they are over the limit and don't want to report that. For a arena with lots of empty seats, they don't want to admit how bad attendance is so 8,000 gets reported.

Yea I don’t think there’s any room to criticize RU fans here, 5500 or so turned out to watch the second worst (?) high major team in America play another awful team at 6:30 on a Tuesday

There is no sellout streak. In ended in December. Ticket office needs to get their head out of their *** and stop the nonsense.

Big decision coming. Renewal probably due at end of March which is terrible if that soon
For me too. Honestly I’m having buyers remorse this year. I just can’t see renewing. 1) the product. 2) the whole landscape of “college” athletics. 3) they got rid of my boiled hot dogs behind 207 this year. 4) the AD seems determined to resurrect premium seating which will probably impact my 200 D seats anyway. 5) the product again. The last three years have been particularly rough.

I'm criticizing Rutgers for announcing a sellout when there were still tickets for sale on ScarletKnights.com at tip off. Rutgers didn't even go through the charade of dumping them all on SeatGeek this time.

For sure, was referencing the comments about student turnout, etc
