Yep, there was no sunlight left to dry the outfield. By time they dumped it and it dried a little, it would have been dark and cold, which isn't drying anything. The wind would have helped dried it some, but by time we started back it was going to be a real feel of under 30 degrees on a wet field.The grounds crew at Bosh is elite and those guys work their butts off to have one of the best fields in the country. And to your point, all that water in the tarp has to come somewhere and it’s the outfield.
Toss in that it was windy and 40 degrees, there’s not going to be any drying and it was only going to get colder and all….stinks they couldn’t finish, but certainly understand why they didn’t.
