Good we scored 2 in the bottom of the fifth.
Sucks to end the weekend with the series tied. But it sure beats losing the game 3-1 in 5 innings, which almost happened

Not getting a winner of the series is obviously frustrating and frankly I’d rather treat it like today never happened than call it a tie, but what can you do.
Nice to finally see some good at bats before the rain showed up. Not a great weekend for us, but it’s a long year. Lot to work on the next two weeks before UVA shows up. If any of the games next weekend are in doubt, that will be concerning.

The OJ situation is a curious one that I have questioned since last weekend.
The hitting is not a concern for me at this point and neither is the pitching issues with walks due to a limited preseason but with the UVA offense coming in two weeks we can't afford walks and falling behind hitters with that lineup. So we have almost two weeks to get better and they will.

I don’t understand agreeing to call the game there. We had all the momentum. I would take our BP over theirs since we still had Matty. Trust your guys to go win a 4 inning game. Baffling to me. Comes across as loser mentality by Forbes…
That was true last weekend, and I complained about it, but the staff did a much better job this weekend. Last weekend, our starters threw 267 pitches in 15 IP, or almost 18 per inning. This weekend, they threw 236 in 17.2 IP, which is a much better 13,35 per inning. Overall, the entire staff averaged just 14 pitches per inning this weekend. That is VERY acceptable.
They didn’t call the game because they were afraid to lose. It’s a wet 37 degrees with a lot of wind, have to think about the health of your players first and foremost. Neither of the coaches “wanted” to call that game. Good lord.

Won’t win all of them but I like our chances every single time.
Dude this is week 2 of the season. This is not the rubber match of an ACC series with tourney implications. Such a silly suggestion that they called a game in February due to a very wet field rather than appease two fans and possibly get someone hurt.

Every team loses games. UNC isn't the only team that has to deal with loses and thus use as an experience to grow. Good lord..
The ground crew did not lose the field. Tarp was pulled in plenty of time to save the field!!
The grounds crew at Bosh is elite and those guys work their butts off to have one of the best fields in the country. And to your point, all that water in the tarp has to come somewhere and it’s the outfield.
Toss in that it was windy and 40 degrees, there’s not going to be any drying and it was only going to get colder and all….stinks they couldn’t finish, but certainly understand why they didn’t.
This could be a LONG season here. The idiots usually don't start showing up until after hoops season ends.
